The editors invite submissions on Whitman s poetry and prose, on his influence on modern and contemporary writers, and on his relationship to American culture. Recent issues have included Hank Lazer on Whitman and Louis Simpson, C. Carroll Hollis on rhetoric, elocution, and voice in Leaves of Grass, James Perrin Warren on Whitman as a Ghostwriter, Arthur Geffen on Whitman and the Brooklyn Bridge, Joseph Benevento on Whitman and Borges, Leonard Prager on Whitman in Yiddish, and Jean Schwind on Whitman and Van Gogh. Coming this year: a special issue devoted to all known photographs of Whitman, the most photographed poet of the 19th century.
