1 Dear RBK Global Family Members, Once more, it is with immense pleasure that we have come up with our newsletter Glimpses for the month of September. We have tried to capture last month s excitement and activities. As we all know, a newsletter mirrors a school s vision and mission. We sincerely hope that this edition makes for an interesting read. Let all humanity come together for -PEACE (World Peace day ) World peace day was celebrated at RBK Global School. As part of the assembly theme the students spoke about the eminent world leaders who made valuable contribution towards world peace. The peace symbol dove adorned the corridors of the school. Children wore badges that emphasized the importance of peace. Learners of RBKGS Primary and Secondary Section were involved in few activities to make them understand and recognize that peace can begin with them. 1 1

2 Pre Primary If we want to reach real peace in this world, we should start educating children ~Mahatma Gandhi~ That's exactly what we are trying to do at Ramaben Babubhai Kanakia Pre-Primary School. Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated by our learners of K-2 OTU with a special assembly to commemorate the birthday of the Father of our Nation -Mahatma Gandhi on 29th September 16 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The celebration included, a prayer, speech, a beautiful poem, quotes, song, power- Point presentation and a patriotic dance. 2 2

3 Pre Primary GANESH CHATURTHI ASSEMBLY BY K-2 ENA Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the Deva of intellect and wisdom. We believe in Learning by doing, and in order to educate our learners on different cultures and festivities we at Ramaben Babubhai Kanakia celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi. Our learners looked their very best in their traditional attire. The learners sang a melodious song, delivered speeches, performed a skit that enlightened learners about the festival. 4 Month Primary Primary HINDI DIWAS Learners and teachers of RBKGS primary section celebrated Hindi Diwas in the school to mark the importance of the country s most widely spoken language. Hindi Diwas is celebrated on September 14 every year. A special assembly marked the occasion with lightning of lamp followed by speech highlighting the birth of Hindi. Songs and dances by the students of Classes 1,2 and 3 enthralled the audience. Hindi poems were sung, and students spoke on the importance of the language in the contemporary society. The day ended with the inspiring speech by Principal Ma am and M.R ma am. 4 4

5 Month Primary Primary BEST OUT OF WASTE In order to make children aware of uses of waste material, and to give them a lesson on reducing waste to save our future, a Best out of Waste competition was organized for students of class 2nd and 3rd in RBK Global School. Mind-blowing, beyond expectation, fantabulous ideas were demonstrated by students. Right from waste ropes to broken bangles, plastic bangles, waste nails to broken door handles every waste material was used and the result was a hall full of projects made out of waste 5 5

6 Month Secondary This world is but a canvas to our imagination. To encourage the artistic expression among budding artists of RBKGS the school hosted a wonderful event Art Mela.The event involved a wide range of art work across all grades who were part of this artistic fiesta. In the words of dignitaries,it is important to inculcate the sense of aesthetics and tradition right from the young age. An event like Art Mela helps the learners to understand and develop their own perspective for different forms of art. At the end of fiesta everyone was having the same thought that ART HAS COME ALIVE. 6 6

7 Month Secondary In the presence of the Divine ISKCON Temple, Mira Road Our students were taken for an architectural tour to ISKCON Temple, Mira road on 22nd September, The learners spent about three hours there, exploring one of the most beautiful temple of Lord Krishna in Mira Road. The learners were taken through a brief history of Lord Krishna s life story by various resource persons. They were shown a presentation of the entire architectural design and the intrinsic work in different areas of the structure. The experience of visiting the temple was so serene and soothing that learners offered their prayers and spent a few minutes in meditating before the deities. Learners were also offered prasad and finally, the day came to an end when they boarded the bus and left the temple premises to get back to school. It was a wonderful experience for both the learners as well as the teachers. 7 7

9 From the Kid s Corner Poem Sharing is caring for others, Caring is bearing others. Happiness is doubled when shared, Everyone feels good when cared. Owing things is human; sharing is divine, Even if they don t repay its fine. Seeing a smiling face is better than a frowning one, Even God has shared with us many things including the Sun.
