Fact: [ ] Today is Monday. Opinion: I think, today is warm. Part 3 = your opinion PAGODA IELTS DAILY NOTES I think / suppose / believe / find / reckon Sensitive = money / socioeconomic class / parenting Humble opinion In my view è from my perspective 1
Structural language I am not sure but à I don t really have an opinion one way or the other but To a certain extent / degree / point / amount Important = crucial = vital = essential = imperative = significant Guns don t kill people. People kill people. Disposable products / items Interest Get / become overwhelmed Causes personal stress Puts on strain on families Way of thinking / mentality City s 2
Unfortunately, yes. 3
Time = limited / special resource (spend / waste) everyone has the same amount of time on any given day = efficient being on time / being late athlete celebrity = 가수 / 배우 affectionate (adj) adjectives / people / positive mimic / imitate / copy the way they OOO carry oneself the way they carry themselves 4
background = 1) about yourself 2) about the topic itself 5
My dream is to become a well-known service designer in Korea. One of the most famous schools where I can learn this is in England London. That is why I am studying IELTS. Well let me tell you about the time that I needed to arrive early. It was actually this morning ~~ So, I started to think that this is important. Value So, I started to value OOO. promise = appointment What I mean is Point = gist = crux Well... I guess the gist / point / crux of what I am trying to say is that we should always try to be on time. As I said earlier As I mentioned a moment ago 6
Do Korean get nervous when they speak in front of many people? 7
I don t think it is a matter of OOO. - Nationality, gender, age Instead it is a matter of courtesy. Unforeseen circumstances Well.. I suppose it is not a matter of gender I honestly think that all people should be on time. That being said, accidents DO happen so in the event of unforeseen circumstance, I reckon the important thing is to give them notice, let them know that you are late. Inform (v) = let OOO know space out / zone out reliability (n) good impression / first impression when you are meeting for the first time 1 not a matter of gender 2 always 3 example broad à specific 8
but à however / on the other hand / that being said to a certain point / to a certain extent 2/3 Due to the growing number of overweight people in today s society putting a strain on the healthcare system, some people think that the best way to deal with this problem is to offer more physical education lessons in the school curriculum. Agree / Disagree? ; / : / - that / who / when cleft sentence Absolutely. 9
To begin with, reducing the number of obese students can be achieved by increasing the amount of mandatory exercise by the students. Not only that, it will lead to higher grades for students as they can escape from sitting down at a desk and studying all day long. Getting good grades is important for a vast majority of students. For example, if they have bad grades, their health, especially their mental health would deteriorate. Therefore, it is imperative that their grades improve prior to their health condition. So, through increased amount of exercise, students can benefit, particularly their mental state, by improving their grades. The best way = more physical education class?? NO!! à balanced education in health (e.g. diet / proper exercise / habit / raise awareness ) 2 Intro = 80 5 Body 1 = Body 2 = Conclusion = words 10
