Poem: Hope is the thing with feather by Emily Dickinson - The title: hope represents a bird, and how with hope we are able to fly like a bird. - First stanza, hope is the thing inside of you that grabs on to you. Hopes sings a song inside of you, and once it starts it never stops. - Second stanza, the song that hopes sings is as sweet as any other songs - Third Stanza, Hope can be anywhere, and it is everywhere, it is never a part of something. - The theme: Hope is everywhere. B. Drama: The Sneeze by Neil Simon - Neil Simon is one of the most popular dramatists, He was born on the 4 th of July in New York City. Most of Simon s plays are set in his hometown of New York and deal with domestic problems of middleclass Americans. - Drama: is a play that based on real events. - A farce: is a humorous play that presents comic, dialogue, and physical humour. - The setting: Russia, Theatre, General s office, Ivan s house - The Characters: - Ivan Cherdyakov: The main character, he is a clerk in the ministry of public parks. - General Mikhail: Ivan s boss. - Madam Brassilhov: General s wife - Sonya Cherdyakov: Ivan s wife C. Short story: American History

3 - The Characters: Elena Elena s mother- Eugene Eugene s mother - The summary: - A young Puerto Rican girl named Elena or (Skinny Bones). She has a crush on a new boy at school. Skinny Bones wants to get to know him better so she takes a risk, and asks him if he wanted to study with her. - The boy who Elena wants to study with is Eugene, a very smart boy. Eugene, also has crush on Elena but can t ask her because he is very timid - The turning point or climax of the story is when President Kennedy was assassinated. The President was an aspiration to the community. When the news of the president s death was spread around, Elena s apartment was quiet for weeks. - Elena was about to go because they were going to study that day. But Elena s mother said no, you cannot go to that boy s house. Vocabulary - Nimble: light and quick - Connive: to cooperate secretly

8 Writing: What the world would be like in 100 years. In today's era everybody is running for getting all they want that is only one thing the people are craving and chasing money. After 100 years I can imagine the world having people of some different minds with different and some new inventions and ideas in their mind. After 100 years there will be many changes in the technologies n many other things. The tradition may also get change. The children at the age of 2-3 could be found using laptop and Android phones and tablets etc. As it is said that "As the days goes on the people start showing their real face then what they used be before" In the same the world goes on developing and inventing something new and exciting things. The people who are living will be having more skills and knowledge. The people who are living may be some kind of lazy people. After 100 years I think corruption may get reduced. As we know that deforestation is increasing day by day so it must be reduced so that the people in the future generations should be able to see the natural beauty of nature that is flora and fauna. Extinct species should be protected and saved for the future generation. Don't throw garbage here and there protect our environment. After 100 years the students can take decisions without taking permission of their parents. "Always say no to people who kill the extinct species and animals" Natural beauty of all is our nature only in the same way the natural beauty of our environment are these plants, trees, flora and fauna only so save them the environment will also be saved so that the people can enjoy the natural beauty of the world If you could change one thing about yourself. More time to prioritise self-care.

9 To not be so hard on myself. Understanding how far I ve come and not accepting other people s judgements. They are not living my experience. To be kinder to myself and give myself the care and attention I give others. Put myself first more without feeling guilty. I would be less harsh on myself. I would pat myself on the back for daily achievements. I would treat myself as well as I do my friends. A great deal of our responses had an overriding theme being kinder to ourselves and prioritising self-care. Learning to take care of ourselves without feeling guilty isn t always easy, but try to keep this in mind you can t pour from an empty cup. You cannot help and support others if you are struggling, so try to remember self-care isn t selfish. To help with this we asked our members what steps they would suggest to those looking to improve their self-care practice. Here are some of our favourite responses: Add yourself to the list of people you love and care for. Speak to family, friends and colleagues about what they do, perhaps get some ideas of what might work/not work for you. Try different things, be curious and open-minded. Be kind to yourself, it s not always easy. You will gain a lot of personal insight along the way, which is invaluable. Put boundaries in between work and home/social time and monitor your self-care regularly. Think back to whatever made you feel good as a child, or something that you have always wanted to do. Try not to think about what other people might think.
