1 A Season of Surprises! Subscription Season Burbank, CA Producer/Director Garry Marshall announced today the fifth subscription series, A Season of Surprises! to be presented at his FALCON THEATRE in Burbank, California. The series will feature five plays, including four World Premieres. Falcon Theatre unveils its subscription series with the World Premiere of Fritz Coleman s revealing TONIGHT AT 11! The second show, a great MUSICAL SURPRISE, will be announced soon. Stay tuned for exciting details! Next for the holidays, The Troubadour Theater Company is back for the merry World Premiere of their latest holiday spoof, JACKson FROST, A Holiday Fable with Music by Jacksons A-Z. Spring brings Gordon Hunt (Mad About You, Frasier) directing the World Premiere of the 70s cult classic comedy film, WHERE S POPPA? adapted for the stage by playwright/screenwriter/novelist Robert Klane. The Falcon will cap its fifth season with the World Premiere of Valerie Martin s award-winning drama, PROPERTY, directed by Peter Schneider (Sister Act the Musical and Grand Hotel). Whether it s your local weathercaster dropping by or storm clouds gathering over the antebellum south, this is a surprise-studded subscription season. Leading off, Fritz Coleman, the honorary Mayor of Toluca Lake, brings us the timely inside scoop on the fascinating world of broadcast news in his TONIGHT AT 11! Marshall announced. But don t worry; Fritz will be done in time to bring us our five-day-forecast each night at eleven o clock. Next up, the Falcon is putting the finishing touches on a MUSICAL SURPRISE for the second show. Then for our third show, The Troubadour Theater Company is back to make merry with their latest yuletide parody, JACKson FROST, A Holiday Fable with Music by Jacksons A-Z. Any Jackson is fair game in this Jackson extravaganza. And the Troubies will be back in the new year to present their annual Shakespearean parody 1 of 5
2 which will be specially discounted for Falcon Theatre subscribers. Everyone will be buzzing over MUCH ADOOBIE BROTHERS ABOUT NOTHING, a sidesplitting send-up of Shakespeare s classic romp with the classic rock of the Doobie Brothers! Following the Troubies, Director Gordon Hunt, from Mad About You, Frasier, and this summer s fabulous Sound of Music at the Hollywood Bowl, brings the rollicking retelling of Robert Klane s satirical comedy WHERE S POPPA? to the Falcon! In this play about a hilariously eccentric family, the middle-aged son s love life is constantly ruined by his overpossessive and jealous mother. His only chance for freedom is to scare his mother to death in this absurdist, slapstick comedy. For the fifth and final play in the Falcon subscription series, we are sincerely proud to present the World Premiere of Valerie Martin s award-winning novel PROPERTY. Adapted for the stage by Ms. Martin, PROPERTY will be directed by acclaimed Broadway producer Peter Schneider. Set against the backdrop of an 1828 slave insurrection, this powerful new play explores the lives of two women divided by color and bound by slavery. ********************************************************** The Season at the Falcon Theatre September 6 October 1, 2006 TONIGHT AT 11!
