They were the very first group of freshmen to roam the halls of Norfolk Senior High School. Along with having to readjust and get used to the change of different buildings, they also had to go through a brand new principal every year of their high school experience. Graduation is a memorable event and the capstone of thirteen years of hard work, perseverance, and determination. The graduation ceremony required hard work and determination. Every single detail had to be perfect or as Valedictorian Arria Lakha said, "as perfect as can be." The opening event that started the ceremony was a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner by Juniors Marshall DeFor and Kaitlin Strong. The 2014 Graduation ceremony was an emotional ending to a successful year at Norfolk Senior High. The ceremony was a nice way to rejoice with our Seniors one last time and say goodbye. The Winter Royalty dance was preceded by the coronation of the king and queen that was open to the public. After much suspense and anticipation, Steven Zarate and Morgan Heimes emerged the king and the queen of the occasion. Steven also stated, "It felt great knowing you are the Winter Royalty King and honestly very surprised to be," said Zarate. "I also like to thank the student body having me as king." Hannah Wiebelhaus Emma Dagerman Samuel Castillo E S This school year of 2013-2014 was a musically fulfilling year for the Norfolk Senior High Orchestra.

Their first Honor Orchestra was the Nebraska All-State Orchestra in Lincoln and their final Honors Orchestra was held at Nebraska Wesleyan University.

All in all, seventy students were involved in this school year's Orchestra.

Bender, the director for the Orchestra, the Orchestra has always tried to appeal to a variety of tastes and ages.

13 Hannah Wiebelhaus Emma Dagerman Samuel Castillo E S This school year of was a musically fulfilling year for the Norfolk Senior High Orchestra. They participated in two honor orchestras. Their first Honor Orchestra was the Nebraska All-State Orchestra in Lincoln and their final Honors Orchestra was held at Nebraska Wesleyan University. In total, sixteen students ranging from Freshman to Seniors participated in the honors orchestras. All in all, seventy students were involved in this school year's Orchestra. The musical selections this year had a large range from "Call Me Maybe" to "Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones." According to Mrs. Bender, the director for the Orchestra, the Orchestra has always tried to appeal to a variety of tastes and ages. Some of the more memorable performances include, "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay, Mozart, Dvorak, Haydn, and also music from the Broadway smash hit musical, "Westside Story." It was a fantastic, entertaining, and creative year for the Norfolk High School Orchestra.
