The band electrified Sunday masses with their renditions of traditional hymns and their own original melodies. Recognizing their acceptance and their desire to spread their talent to other Episcopal churches, the band began to take their music on the road. The musical arrangements performed by the band are the creative genius of Kurleigh Lowe, who has combined his love of music, computer technology and music arranging into a unique sound for Highlite Vibes. The result is the reconfiguration of familiar hymns that now abound with contemporary rhythmic harmonic combinations and an explosion of sounds and timbres. It is praise music to our God. HighLite Vibes has performed at over 70 Episcopal Churches in the Tri-State area. The band also performed recently at the consecration of Bishop Provenzano, the new Bishop of the Diocese of Long Island, Brooklyn and Queens, New York. HighLite Vibes has transformed itself into a full-fledged music business enterprise. They provide music services for all kinds of religious activities, events, concerts, DJ services for social functions; they provide music for weddings, parties, coffee hours and church related events. Members of the band also tutor children and adults. These services can be tailored to suit individual needs.

5 Kendra Hollingsworth or as some call her, Lady Holly is a graduate with degrees in Education, Mathematics and Administration. She started her musical career in church singing gospel. She has created a style of her own. As a Director, she encourages and inspires both her choir members and listeners as the great word of our Lord and Savior is spread through music. Having over a three-octave range, Lady Holly is able to touch many styles of music, including classical, gospel and jazz. Ms. Hollingsworth s voice is heard on various established recordings. Her own CD s Jazz Makes Me Happy and To God Be the Glory spread the delight of her passion for singing. Performing at numerous religious and social events has brought her immense joy. She has appeared on QPTV and Manhattan s Public Access TV stations. She has performed at venues such as The Battery Park Jazz Festival, Harlem Jazz Festival, The Guy Brewer Democratic Club and The New York City Amsterdam Club, just to name a few. Ms. Hollingsworth has performed in many noted shows, such as Treemonisha by Scott Joplin (in the lead role Lucy) and Slab Town Convention. Her international experience is far-reaching and exciting. Lady Holly has performed with many distinguished vocalists and can be seen annually at the New York University summer music program for foreign students. She is also a member of Local 802 Musicians Union. Lady Holly has the style and grace that can touch the souls of many. Her favorite quote is, I am just a child of God Juanita Marjorie Hazel Faulkner was born and raised in the lovely Queens Town of East Elmhurst. She is a cradle member of The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, East Elmhurst, having been asked by Mrs. Frances Bunyan-Dixon, Choir Mistress/Organist, to join the senior choir when she was just fourteen years old. This began her career in music. She studied under Esther Hinds of the New York City Opera Company and graduated from The Hartt College of Music in Connecticut, where she majored in Opera, studying voice with the late William Diard, tenor, New York City Opera; drama with Ron Luchsinger, and staging with Jack Zei and Brenda Lewis of The Metropolitan Opera. She studied also under the tutelage of Louis Sgarro, bass, and Helen Greco, soprano, both of the Metropolitan Opera. Juanita performed in operas and solo recitals in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Greece, Turkey, Canada, the Caribbean and Nigeria, where one of her concert appearances was before a live audience of 500,000 people! Juanita s New York recital appearances include Cami Hall, Merkin Hall, St. John the Divine Cathedral, and Lincoln Centre. Her rendition of the operatic aria, Pace, pace, mio Dio, by G. Verdi, is one of her solos that expresses the richness of her voice as a dramatic soprano. Under the auspices of the Symphony Space Theatre in New York City, she holds the position of Artist in Residence where she visits schools throughout New York State, teaching children and conducting musical history workshops. Her nieces and nephews, who fondly call her Tata, think Tata is really cool.

6 Neil Walker has demonstrated extraordinary talent, skill and flexibility as a pianist and organist. Mr. Walker holds a Graduate degree in Piano Performance from Brooklyn College and a Licentiate (LRSM) in Piano Performance from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, London. In 2012, he earned his certificate in organ playing through the American Guild of Organist (CAGO); and January 2014 he is expected to complete his second Graduate Degree in Music Education from The City University of New York at Lehman College, Bronx NY. As a pianist, his recent engagements included concerts in Barbados, Jamaica and Guyana. As an organist, he was invited by the Barbadian Consulate to be the organist at the 46th annual service for Barbados Independence. Mr. Walker has also appeared in concerts within the Episcopal circle including St. Gabriel s Episcopal Church (Brooklyn, NY), Grace Episcopal Church (Queens, NY), Church of the Transfiguration (Long Island, NY) and The Episcopal Church of Saint Andrew & Holy Communion (South Orange, NJ). He is currently the Organist/Choral Director at St. Simon, The Cyrenian Episcopal Church in New Rochelle, NY and he teaches music at M.S K354, the School of Integrated Learning in Brooklyn, NY. He has recorded two solo piano albums, De Folk Music in Me and The Jesus Album and is currently working on future releases. Dr. Peter Archer is an accomplished musician who has shared his musical talent in many venues throughout the Metropolitan area and overseas. He is the trumpeter for both Calvary Baptist Church in NYC and Bedford Central Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn, NY; and he has performed with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra at the Avery Fisher Hall. He completed several radio broadcast programs and performed with Jamaica s legend, Beres Hammond in Kingston, Jamaica. As a conductor, Dr. Archer directed the Queens All-Borough-Wide Symphonic Band at the 100th Anniversary at Carnegie Hall and directed the Police and Army Bands of Guyana in South America. Dr. Archer is an active exemplar and mentor, volunteering his Saturdays throughout the year to teach instrumental music to adults and children in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York. He is the Music Director at the Nathaniel Hawthorne Middle School in Bayside Queens; he instructs students in instrumental music and is credited for the professional music careers of many former students. Dr. Archer earned a Bachelor of Music degree in music performance and a Master of Science degree in Music Education from Queens College-CUNY and completed his Doctorate in Music Education at Boston University s College of Fine Arts. His dissertation chronicles the history of the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College of the City University of New York from This work was presented at Boston University Scholars symposium in the spring of 2013 and it was deemed as an outstanding historical research in music education. Dr. Archer is motivated in his chosen career because he is thankful for the gifts bestowed on him by his Creator and finds it important and a blessing to share these gifts.

7 Kurleigh Christopher Lowe is the consummate musician. He began playing piano at the age of three and has not stopped since. After graduating from the University of Guyana in the year 2000 with a degree in Computer Science, he migrated to New York, where he became the Music Minister of The Church of Epiphany and St. Simon. While there, he trained a group of young people to become a band to accompany the music of the church. This project blossomed into his professional entertainment company Highlite Vibes. Highlite Vibes has just released its fourth album and performs throughout the New York Tri State area, providing music services for social and community events and functions. Their current CDs are available at: Kurleigh presently trains several steel bands and youth choirs in several churches and schools in the New York City area. Besides his music teaching abilities, he has been and still is the major arranger for the Parkside Steel Orchestra, which he led while resident in Guyana. He has won second place in the International Steel Band Competition held in Trinidad in 2008, for his Band and Orchestral arrangement of Mighty Sparrow s Obeah Wedding. He has earned a Bachelor s Degree from Brooklyn College in Piano Performance. He is also the Music Minister of St. Albans Episcopal Church in Canarsie, Brooklyn. Joycelyn Hunte is an enthusiastic Pianist, Music Educator, Choral Conductor and Organist, whose interest is in sharing the transforming power of music with all who she encounters. She is from a large family of exceptionally talented musicians and was taught by her mother, Janet Hunte, and Daphne Scott. She began the study of the piano at the age of three and was grounded in the tradition of the Associated Boards of the Royal Schools of Music, London, United Kingdom and attained Grade 8 certification with distinction in Piano, Theory and General Musicianship. She also plays the cello, clarinet and the steel pan. During these early years, she toured as pianist representing Guyana in Cuba, North Korea, the former USSR and several Caribbean Islands as an accompanist to the famous Woodside Choir International. She has also performed as a cellist with the Barbados Symphonia and the Princessville Orchestra. Upon completion of the Bachelor of Arts degrees with distinction from the University of Guyana in English and History she migrated to the United States, where her interest in music teaching became her primary professional focus. Advanced degrees were obtained in the USA, performances were booked, workshop and conferences as a music clinician were scheduled and a daily routine of teaching music in public school in New York City has been established. She is currently the Music Minister at Saint Stephen s Episcopal Church in New York and is always willing to share, learn and grow. Joycelyn finds tremendous joy in faithfully serving Jesus Christ through music and educating all whom she encounters as the course of her life proceeds.
