Even small ensembles can be heard in our 2,500-seat auditorium. It s a wonderful place to perform. I couldn t be more pleased. When I m on stage with my choral groups, the shell gives me a very good feel for what s going on. Set up is easy we ve marked the tower positions on the floor and simply slide them in place. My one regret is not buying clouds with built-in lighting; it would be much simpler. Although we re getting better at lighting through the clouds, we still have to re-focus them each time. We have a lot of Wenger equipment in our school, and Wenger has served us well. Although it s a little more expensive, we fought hard for Wenger equipment because the extra money is worth it. Their service after the sale is excellent and that s extremely important. I ve never had a problem with any Wenger equipment that Wenger did not resolve quickly and to my satisfaction. I ve conducted in other auditoriums, where the podium is often the worst place to hear. But with the D, it s revealing because I can hear things I haven t heard before. I ve listened to the group from all around the auditorium, and I m impressed with the rich sound. Our students think it s great. I think the shell s professional appearance, even before the first note is played, makes the audience take the whole ensemble more seriously. Our large thrust stage makes the auditorium more intimate, and the D makes all the difference. I can put tubas in the back, where I like to, and with their straight bells the sound seems to be coming from the clouds. It s a neat effect. Without the D, I m sure we would lose the sound of the low brass. A two-person student crew can set up the shell in under an hour. Everyone at Wenger has been very friendly and nice to deal with. Along with improving the acoustics for the audience, the D makes it much easier for musicians to hear each other onstage. 3 College/University Educators and Technicians Takes Performance To A New Level D is one of the highlights of our building. It s easy for a crew of 2-3 students to set it up in 45 minutes to an hour. Taking it down can be done in a half-hour. It s impressive to watch how easily the Air Transporter glides the towers into place. The music department will not perform without the D, because it takes their performance to a new level acoustically The Marion Philharmonic Orchestra uses our building and they re thrilled with the D. They keep coming back because the acoustics are so good. D is also very dramatic in appearance. But the sound of the D really sold us. We currently have 96 music majors, and I expect we ll have 120 majors this fall.
