1 Manual for WMR-252 built-in receiver with universal dimmer A unique universal built-in wireless receiver with dimmer function for remotely controlling dimmable 230V LED bulbs, low-energy bulbs, incandescent light bulbs and 230V/12V halogen bulbs with electronic transformer. With the WMR-252 installed, you can continue using your existing 1-way switch and also control your load/bulb from another self-learning remote control/transmitter from the System Nexa range. WMR-252 has 8 built-in software controlled dimmer levels so that the lowest brightness level can be adjusted for the various bulb types that are used. The WMR-252 also has integrated protection against overvoltage and excessive heat generation. Can be used with the following bulb types: Incandescent light bulbs and halogen bulbs (~230 V): 3 - max. 250 W Electronic transformers (~12 V): 20 -max. 180 VA Dimmable low-energy bulbs: 3- max. 50 W Dimmable LED bulbs (230V): 3 - max. 50 W NB Does not work with fluorescent tubes or LED transformers Specification Installation ALWAYS turn off the power supply and/or main switch before starting work. 1. See below for installing in existing manual switches. 2. Disconnect the phase from the manual switch.

2 3. Connect the AC lead and power to the receiver block. Input power to terminal 30V AC phase to terminal Connect 2 leads on the dimmer module to the existing manual switch. Programming WMR-252 can be coded and controlled together with up to 6 different remote controls simultaneously as it has max 6 memories. The receiver cannot be used with Code Switch System type remote controls/transmitters. It is only compatible with Self Learning System remote controls/transmitters. Programming in LEARNING MODE: 1. Connect the load/bulb to the receiver. 2. Press the Learn button on the receiver (the red LED on the receiver flashes) to start learning mode. 3. Press the ON button you want to code on the remote control. Two flashes confirm that the remote control has been coded.

3 4. N.B. Learn mode will be active for 12 seconds. If no signal is received from a remote control during that time, the receiver will automatically exit learning mode without it being coded. Exit learning mode manually by simply pressing the Learn button once more. If a confirmation flash is not seen when learning mode is active, it may mean the receiver's memory is FULL and that no further remote controls can be coded before an existing one is deleted (see below). Delete Delete an individual unit: 1. Press the Learn button on the receiver once. The LED will flash. The receiver is now in learning mode. 2. Press the OFF button you want to disengage on the remote control. Two flashes confirm the remote control has been disengaged. Delete the memory entirely (disengage all coded remote controls): Press the Learn button on the receiver for 6 seconds (the red LED on the receiver flashes), release it and press it again. Two flashes confirm that all the remote controls have been disengaged. Low brightness settings We recommend using the same brand of loads/bulbs at one time for optimum performance. Each LED or dimmable low-energy bulb may have its own electronics and in this way be dimmed to different levels, and above all, the lowest level of brightness can be varied for each lamp. It may be in order to carry out the following steps to adapt the dimming level of your particular bulb. (Provided the transmitter and receiver have been learned to each other.) 1. Turn on the bulb with the remote control. 2. Press rapidly 2 times on the receiver's learn button, the LED will flash rapidly and will be in learn mode for setting to optimum mode. (Lowest dimmer level.) 3. Press the OFF button once the bulb will then attain its brightest level and subsequently go to a new lowest level. The receiver will do the same again when the OFF button is pressed again and stop at an even lower dimmer level. This can be repeated seven times until an optimum lowest dimmer level is found without the bulb flickering. If it should flicker at a very low dimmer level, just press ON to turn the dimmer up to the next level. (There are 8 different levels in total.) 4. When you are happy with the lowest dimmer level, press the learn button 2 times in rapid succession (save settings) and the LED stops flashing. Example: Select the most dimmed level for factory setting. 1. Press the OFF button once to adjust the software from level 8 7 if the supply comes on as usual and

4 2. Press the OFF button once more to adjust the software from level 7 6 and continue with the adjustment until the supply flickers or is turned OFF. 3. If it does flicker or is turned off, press the ON button once to reset level The correct dimmer level is 6 in this example. Control via remote/transmitter Smooth start function ON/OFF: Press the ON button on the remote control and the bulbs will come on gradually. Press the OFF button on the remote control and the bulbs will turn off gradually. Dimmer function: 1. Make sure the load/bulb has been turned ON (the load/bulb always goes first to 100% dimmed level). 2. Press ON on the remote control once more and the bulb will begin to dim. 3. Stop when the required brightness is attained by pressing ON once more. The level is dimmed in cycles and unless a signal is given within 4 cycles, it will stop at 100% brightness. Once a dimmer level has been set with the remote control, the bulb will be turned OFF and the dimmer level automatically returns to the previous setting when the bulb is turned on next time. Controlling with the existing 1-way manual switch Smooth start function ON/OFF: Press the ON button on the manual switch and the bulbs will come on gradually.

5 Press the OFF button on the manual switch and the bulbs will turn off gradually. Dimmer function: 1. Make sure the load (light) has been turned ON (the load/bulb always goes first to 100% dimmed level). 2. Then press OFF and ON rapidly, and the bulbs will dim. 3. Stop at the required brightness by pressing OFF and then ON. The level is dimmed in cycles and unless a signal is given within 4 cycles, it will stop at 100% brightness. Once a dimmer level has been set with the remote control, the bulb will be turned off and the dimmer level automatically returns to the previous setting when the bulb is turned on next time. If you use both the remote control and the manual switch, the ON/OFF status of the manual switch may vary. Example 1: If the light is turned ON with the manual switch and then OFF with the remote control. Next time the light is turned ON with the manual switch, it must be done differently: You must first turn the switch OFF and then ON again. Example 2: If the bulb is turned ON from the manual switch and then turned ON again with the remote control, it will start to dim. You can stop at the required brightness by simply pressing ON on the remote control or OFF and then ON with the manual switch. NB This product is suitable and safe for use with dimmable low-energy bulbs and LEDs (230V) up to max. 50 W but to comply with regulations, the product specification must specify max. 24 W. Warning Leave at least cm between 2 or more receivers.
