Our colleagues in Utah in the United States moved into their new building. There were also expansions and thorough renovations in Belgium, Europe. A number of new products were launched with the high point being Radiolink: new remote RF-products. These also make feasible in finished residences. 2 [2] [product info] C-Box Vantage C-box is the central processing unit for the Vantage system and is designed to add a control system to existing structures where traditional built-in controller cannot be accommodated. It executes the programming for lights, audio/video, HVAC, security systems 2 models: Wall-mount version or desktop/rackmount version. For the European market there is a C- box supporting the 2-wire Vantage bus. For the countries where RF is available the C-box support both the Vantage 2- wirebus and the RadioLink control. Both versions have a built-in astronomical time clock, customizable telephone and access control, are programmable via modem and are software upgradeable. The C-box supports up to 50 stations (keypads, interfaces) on the 2-wirebus. And you can connect up to 15 C-box controllers to form a single master network. Surfceiling detector Description: This type of ceiling detector has an open collector output. The benefits of this type of outputs is the extreme low power consumption. The power consumption is 7mA (2mA when the LED is not used ). Down with magnets! More news regarding operating keypads. The faceplates have been renewed. Faceplates for the operating keypads will also be available in plastic from the first quarter of next year. The following colors will be available: white, ivory, almond or black. In future metal faceplates will be attached by means of a click system and no longer with magnets. Colors available in metal: white, ivory, almond, satin chrome, polished chrome, clear anodized, black anodized, satin brass, polished brass. Note that with the trimline series you now only have to indicate the color of the trim (frame) for metal faceplates. The trim (frame) is attached to the plastic faceplates. 4 [4] continuation of page 1 Our renovated offices equipped with neon lighting. It is possible to create the right lighting scene for each occasion by using 3 different basic colors. This lighting is perfectly dimmed between 0-100% via the well-known Vantage dimming module: sd9008. The temperature automatically adjusts in relation to the use of the hall. The hifi components also automatically switch-on depending on the function. Cameras and video-screens We do not need a receptionist. Reception is guaranteed by a set of cameras in the car park, in the reception, in the meeting room and in the lobby. Numerous video-screens spread over the different offices guarantee supervision. As soon as the reception door opens, the lighting in that room will increase from 30% to 90%. A buzzer will announce that the door opened and the image of the reception will automatically appear on the screens around the building. The people in the offices where these video-screens are installed can also switch between the different cameras manually by means of a remote control. For example they can keep an eye on the meeting rooms, without having to move into the room and they can see when a training course, has been concluded in order to take the necessary actions. Completely automated The toilets are also completely automated: lighting switches on as soon as the ceiling sensor senses movement. The same detector will rinse the toilet as soon as the person leaves the room. Ventilation will run on high power on leaving the toilets. Use of the hand basins is also activated via a pressure switch in the Vantage System. Movement sensors were also installed in the kitchen. The heating was also linked to the system, which allows temperature control in relation to presence in an area. Most offices and the front door are equipped with an access system. Each member of staff has a personal magnetic key. This key gives access to the front door and depending on the member of staff to certain other areas. Most offices are equipped with an access system. Is it possible to program a key, which switches everything off when you leave the residence, and sets everything back to the previous settings when you return? The question above was posed by 1 of the students during our last advanced training courses. A solution was sought jointly. One of the dealers proposed a rather drastic solution, although admittedly it works: "switch the power supply off on all modules and back on when you return". Thanks to this dealer we can pay some attention to one of the great benefits of the Vantage system: in the event of a power cut of 5 sec or 3 days or : the system will restart with the same settings as before the power cut. Consequently you do not have to set clocks again (e.g. on your video or radio-alarm ) Another solution would be possible by using variables, BUT this would entail a lot of programming. The following solution was given by Mr Kim Hellemans of the company Mitra of Wommelgem: make a 'learnable' 'preset toggle' select all loads in this on leaving the residence press this key (press & hold) for 5 seconds which stores the last settings for everything then switch the lighting off with a delay. On returning press the same key which will then return all the values learnt to all loads. Simple isn t it?

5 [5] Did you know? This last solution was generally accepted, tested and works perfectly. This event also shows that the creativity of the persons programming your Vantage system will define what the system can cope with. We would again like to stress how important it is to work with certified dealers. Euro-conversion For many of us, our familiar currencies will be consigned to history from 1st January. We will begin to invoice in Euro from 1st January 2002 depending on which country you come from (only valid for countries entering the Euro and the United Kingdom). No shipments will be dispatched between 27/12 and 07/01 as we also have to draw up an inventory of stock at the end of the year.
