8 To play national release movies, you need an DCI compliant system D- cinema projector 2K or 4 K resolution with full security management Encrypted Content play out server or media block Optional : an active or passive 3D system A HD video projector with a BluRay player will not be able to show national release movies. Distributors will only deliver movies in DCI compliant DCP format. 8

10 There s more Digital Cinema equipment choice than ever before! Choice of Projection Technology (DLP or Sony XRD) Choice of DCI approved Pixel Formats (2K/4K Resolution!) Choice of 2K & 4K manufacturers (projector & server) Choice of 3D system 1 st choice - Not all of these choices are autonomous. For example, the choice of projector technology may determine the 3D system employed. Often the equipment suitable for the largest auditorium may not be equally suitable for the smallest. 10

11 Digital Cinema equipment FTT Digital Cinema Belux can provide all kind of digital projectors & servers, we are agnostic regarding the choice of the equipment and want to find the best solution for your specific case. All D-Cinema Projector manufacturers Sony and now with integration of TI s new 4K DLP chip Christie, Barco, NEC, have 4K or 4K upgradeable models in their product line up. Kinoton and Cinemeccanica are using the Barco light engine, they have no own development. Server & Mediablock manufacturers (including Doremi, DOLBY, GDC) all have 2K/4K possibilities. 2K is and will remain the most accepted format definition. For the majority of the screens, the present 2K quality is perfect versus 35mm copy. 4K must be considered only for large screen, when the the difference could be seen by audience. 11
