Review/approve agenda The committee reviewed the revised draft agenda (N 539), which had been distributed prior to the meeting. The agenda was approved as revised. 3. Review/approve minutes of the April 2010 meeting The committee reviewed the minutes of the April 2010 meeting (N 501), which was held in Miami, Florida. There being no corrections, the minutes were approved as distributed. 4. Review comments on the restructured ISO based on ISO guide 78 requirements

2 The committee reviewed and resolved comments received from Japan as shown in N0546. Action Item 11-01: Japan to provide correct reference for Annex Table B.1 5. Discuss issues brought up in US mirror committee The committee discussed the proposed changes to ISO from the US mirror committee (N0528) and ISO was edited accordingly. 6. Review of German proposals 6a Addition of requirements for unwind units in ISO The committee reviewed and accepted the proposal for unwind units (N 0533). The wording of the proposal was edited as shown in N 0540 and will be incorporated into the document accordingly. Mr. Ebert and Mr. Reiner will work together to create several new figures that were introduced as part of the proposal. Action Item 11-02: Ebert and Reiner to provide new Figures for ISO (12-21) by October 31. Comments submitted by Japan were reviewed and resolved as shown in at the end of these minutes. 6b Addition of requirements for digital printing in ISO The committee reviewed and accepted the proposal for digital printing (N 0532). The wording of the proposal was edited as shown in N Comments that had been submitted by Japan were reviewed and resolved as shown at the end of these minutes. 6c Review of changes to ISO related to requirements for platen (EN ) Mr. Jefferis reported that platen presses are dangerous machines which have a very bad accident record, as operators tend to get between the platen which has resulted in several deadly accidents. Recent fatal accidents in the UK, US, Canada and Germany required that EN be revised to address this issue. Mr. Jefferis provided the UK comments (N 0542) submitted on EN as well as the final draft of EN (N 0543) and proposed that ISO be edited accordingly. Action Item 11-03: Jefferis and Starke to prepare revised version of ISO for circulation prior to next meeting of WG5. 6d Review of revised Performance Levels It was agreed that a proposal must be made to update performance levels in all Parts of The goal is to provide a precise description of each safety function related to each machine. It was agreed to submit a resolution for a NWI at the plenary and to submit the current document as edited for inclusion with the NWI ballot.

3 Action Item 11-04: Germany to provide a proposal for a comparison of EN 1010 and ISO regarding the required performance level for each safety function before the next WG5 meeting in April Other business Based on the requirement to adhere to ISO Guide 78 (and possibly Guide 51) it was agreed to request TC130 to initiate NWI proposals for all parts of ISO at the DIS stage. Secretary s note: These updates may be candidates for the Living Lab Pilot Program. It was agreed to submit the following resolution at the TC130 plenary meeting. Resolution: WG5 resolves to request the TC130 Secretariat to initiate NWI at the DIS stage for the revision of ISO all parts. 8. Future meeting plans It was agreed that WG5 will request two days at the beginning of the week for the next meeting in April 2012 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. 9. Adjourn Mr. Smythe thanked the members of WG5 for their attendance and efforts. WG5 also thanks Karin Winkelmann and DIN for providing meeting facilities. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.

The purpose of revision is not understandable. The lower ESPD is always positioned at a height of not more than 1400 mm. This reason is not clear and not understandable. Explanation is needed. This was deleted and the following sentence was added: The electrical equipment of ink jet digital printing machines shall conform to the electrical requirements of ISO where the working width is 1300mm or less, The reason of 1300mm is not understandable. where it is ensured that machines cannot be operated Inkjet digital printing machines have a connection with paper converting machines. It is hard requirement to limit the operating environment in this sentence. Explain the reason, or delete the line. If it suggests the paper dust, change the sentence to Machines cannot be operated in production rooms where paper dust is produced from printed or paper converting machines.
