V pro8 with new Software Release In May, the latest V pro8 Software Release v has been published. It is available for all registered users in the Lawo Download Center. Beside bugfixes and enhancements like colour bar test patterns or block mode for the PPMs, the most significant new features are:

3 Page 3 of 6 Surround Downmix: Each SDI output has two downmix engines, 5.1 and 7.1 Monitoring SDI audio output channels via MADI Dolby E aligner: Dolby E signals can be detected and their timing controlled For details please consult the release note which is also available in the Lawo Download Center. Demo license JADE and EDIT downloads They had their premiere at the NAB Show and the Prolight+Sound: the Demo License Code Cards, distributed at these trade shows for the first time to visitors of the Lawo booth. These plastic cards with a code printed on the front side enable customers or potential customers to download demo licenses for the JADE and EDIT software. It's easy: your customers just go to the web page and have to enter the "code" JADE-EDIT-001, their name and their address. They will receive an URL for downloading the JADE and EDIT software and also a license keys for activating the licenses. Duration of validity is 60 days. If you want to use these cards, please contact MarCom. However, the demo licenses can be also acquired by just entering the code mentioned above. Lawo mc²56 and Eclipse GT on live tour in France Lawo mixing consoles are currently on a "Tour de France", performing at the biggest and most prestigious Live Music Events in France All the festivals are mixed for live broadcast on an mc²56 of the latest generation, integrating RAVENNA audio-over-ip technology, as well as on an Eclipse console. The festival tour will be produced by Sombrero and Co, the largest production company in this field in France. Sombrero s sound division Yasta cooperates with some of the most renowned French sound engineers who will be working on our mc²56 and Eclipse consoles during the festival summer. 4 Page 4 of 6 Lawo's Swiss Partner SLG Broadcast set up a handsome installation in Switzerland: in April, Radio24's new studios went on-air. The installation at Radio 24 comprises two on-air studios with Lawo sapphire consoles, one layout studio with a Lawo crystal, and 25 editorial workplaces with Lawo JADE; signals are supplied by a central Nova29 and two Nova17 matrices. Very special is the integration of the equipment supporting the particular workflow of Radio 24. The central system tool, SLG's "SysToolBox", controls webcams and screenbuttons, further devices include voice processors, codecs and many more. Latest news on RAVENNA ARD.ZDF medienakademie, the training institute of the German public broadcasters in Nuremberg, held a seminar on audio data transfer via IP networks. About 70 participants from mainly German broadcasters gathered to learn more different technologies and the benefits of RAVENNA. Andreas Hildebrand from ALC NetworX and Stefan Ledergerber from Lawo supplied information on technology, and Sascha Schwoll of German broadcaster SWR reported on the application of this technology in a huge event in Hamburg, the Church Convention of the Protestant Church ("Kirchentag") with more than visitors, around individual events and more than 40 broadcasters who all used feeds supplied via a RAVENNA network. A press release about this event will be published shortly. 5 Page 5 of 6 End of May, the new release v4.22 for the Lawo Dual Self Healing Star (DSHS), was published. It comprises some significant changes: The MKII router now supports the DSHS structure The 8k high-performance router replaces the previous Ripper & Router combination Benefits: The network setup is simplified a lot The system performance has been increased significantly The risk of failure has been reduced even more. No need for an additional UPS any more as the control system is integrated into the HD core frame Additional main features of this release include support for the new line of DALLIS I/O cards 941/85, 941/86 and 942/86, the 946/17 3G-SDI card and the microphone card 941/53 with fantastic performance features. Plus many usability features that you can find listed in detail in the release notes. So from now on enjoy our even more reliable and ultra-redundant working machine in the DSHS setup. New DALLIS line cards 941/84 and 942/82: Several new DALLIS line cards have been released, that will be supported by the upcoming mc²/nova73 HD Release 4.24, the already published DSHS Release 4.22, and the upcoming Radio Release 4.2. These cards are sucessors of the DALLIS cards 941/83, 941/85: 8 Input & 8 Output Channels 941/86: 8 Input Channels 942/86: 8 Output Channels The cards feature an excellent dynamic range (119 dba), very low harmonic distortion (THD+N %) and extremely low latency while keeping an excellent linear phase response (Inputs: 96/48kHz, Outputs: 96/48kHz)
