1 Student Technology Fee Committee Agenda February 17 th, 2017, 2:30 pm- 4:30 pm Location: UWY 103 I. Call to Order: 2:30PM II. Roll Call: Present Absent A. Jen Roper Gulsrud x B. Omer Adam x C. Confirm Agenda and Approve Prior Minutes No revisions. IV. Public Comment Period-None. V. Budget Overview Jen provided 3 sheets with 3 years budget for comparison. There is enough money to approve the entire proposals.
2 VI. Committee Briefing Abdullah mentioned there will be continuous on every week same time until done. Abdullah mentioned there is a special proposal on SNO 139 and Stolen Printing Hardware on JOY building for deliberation on next meeting. VII. Proposal Deliberation A. 18A01 3D Printing Continuation April mentioned it required 19 hours for students workers for the 3D Printing and wonder how often the 3D printer is being used. Omer asked whether there is connection between library and computer lab. Jen mentioned there is increase on the minimum wages so school will follow. Forrest mentioned 3D Printing is too noisy to put it in room 105 so it placed in somewhere inaccessible. He hopes if it is approved, there will be more students can use it. Omer mentioned there is not enough advertisement as there are not enough student aware of 3D Printing. Jeff mentioned there is no limit on 3D Printing Forrest replied it is first come first serve Jen mentioned the 3D printer is already approved, it possible with no helper during the office hour if cutting the students employee working hours. Motion: 18A01 3D Printing Continuation Abdullah entertained the motion to approve on 3D Printing Continuation with the amendment is included in this package for the amount $ Omer said 19 hours a day is kind a waste of money, it feel like not putting money on the right use. He do not see there is a necessary to have a worker to teach student to use 3D printer. Forrest replied that the machine is hot, student could burn themselves. Abdullah reentertained the motion to delay the aforementioned proposal until the next meeting. So moved: Jen, Seconded by: Omer vote
