After he was in the accident, I suddenly remembered how lovely Marlborough was, and how the people were. The White Horse at Cherhill The White Horse at Cherhill was cut into the chalk Wiltshire downs. It is one of many hillside figures that you can find all along England's landscape. Many of these figures are prehistoric, but this White Horse is relatively young if you compare it to others. It was cut in 1780 by a Dr Christopher Allsop. People believe that he stood in the village below and used a megaphone to give instructions to the workers.
