1 Name:.. Year 3 French Revision Pack Mr Hempsted and Mme Chevalley Summer 2018
2 1 Introduction for parents and pupils: Bonjour! Here is your French revision pack for your upcoming summer exams. Please don t worry too much, little and often works best! The exam will be fun and will allow you to show off all that you have learnt this year. Just do your best and put in the same brilliant effort that you do in class. Bon Courage!
3 2 Vocabulary In this section is all the vocabulary that you need for your exams. In the exam the words will be given to you, but what you need to master is copying them ACCURATELY. You will lose marks for copying the incorrectly. Use these grids below to help you practise writing the words. 1. See if you can copy out each word 3 times (in French!) can you spell perfectly each time? 2. Once you have done this can you colour feminine words (une) in red and masculine words (un) in blue? 3. If you have done all of this and STILL want more why not do mind maps based on the vocab topic. Revision tips Look, say, cover, write, check. Learn this French words as you would your English spellings. Use the 5 steps below to learn how to spell any word. 1. LOOK Look carefully at the word for at least 10 seconds. 2. SAY Say the word to yourself or out loud to practise pronunciations. 3. COVER Cover up the word when you feel that you have learned it. 4. WRITE Write the word from memory. 5. CHECK Check the word against the original. Did you get it right? If not, what did you get wrong? Spend time learning that bit of the word again. Try again until you get it right. Mind Maps Take a piece of A4 paper and write and draw as much as you can about a topic (i.e. animals). Post-It notes If there are any words that you find tricky to learn, write them down on a post-it note and place them around the house! Believe it or not, it will seep into your brain without you knowing!
