6 2 Choose one of the photos on pages 46 and 47. a Draw a quick sketch of the photo. A description describes a particular person, place or thing. It is often part of a longer text. It uses: nouns adjectives relating, thinking and feeling verbs descriptive words. b Label your sketch. Include adjectives in your labels, eg long, green ribbon. c List the colours you see. d List the textures you see, eg rough, silky. e Write a description of the photo. Start with a general outline of what you can see, and then become more specific. Write about colours, textures and size. Use adjectives. Use as and like if what you are describing reminds you of something else, eg as pretty as..., smiling like 51
