It is essential that, when dealing with human research, the author sends a copy of the approval of the Ethics Committee as a digital file. Images and tables should follow the same procedures recommended on the original article. The book reviews articles should present: header (transcript of complete bibliographic data of told publication); introduction and objective; synthetic presentation of the parts, sections or chapters; critical analysis about the work and discussion around a scientific or theoretical contribution. Quotes that contain 3 lines must be in the body of the paragraph between double quotation marks, in which should be the last name of the author, the year and the page. Quotes that contain 3 or more lines is transcribed separately and without quotation marks, and should also present the author s last name, the year and the page. Attachments: Used only when it is strictly necessary. References: - they should be listed alphabetically by author's last name. Works from the same author are ordered by year of publication (starting with the oldest). Regarding the ABNT rules, we refer the following examples of quotations and references. 1 CITATION It is the mention of information extracted from another source in the text. The author uses an original text to extract the citation that may be reproduced literally (direct, literal or textual quote), interpreted, summarized or translated (indirect or free quote), or may be an information extracted from an intermediate source (Quotations of Quotations). 1.1 Direct, Literal or Textual Quotations These are literal transcriptions extracted from the consulted text, respecting all formal characteristics related to the original writing. Part of the transcribed text may be omitted through the usage of this punctuation: [ ], but at the end of the extract, one must indicate where the quotation has been extracted from. The quotation in the text is transcribed between double quotation marks, and when it is a small part, less than three lines, it must be in the body of the paragraph. There is the place where (it) was born, the place where (it) came from, the place where (it) works, etc. The place where (it) can be completed, for the talk, for the allusive change of some passwords, in the familiarity and the accomplice
4 intimacy of announcers (AUGÉ, 1994, p. 73). In synthesis, a place can be symbolized. When the name of the quoted author(s) or the title(s) of the referenced work is (are) included in the sentence, only the date and the page(s) are included between parenthesis. To Romberg (1992, p. 51), the term "research" refers to the process things that are done and not objects that can be touched and seen. Besides that, he says: Make a research can t be seen as a mechanic performance or an activity s collection that people follow in a prescriptive or a predetermined way.". The first example in item 1.1, notice that, when the author s last name is between parentheses, this must be written in upper case (AUGÉ, 1994, p. 73). The second example in the same item 1.1, notice that, when the last name of the author is out of the parentheses, this must be written in lower case - Romberg (1992, p. 51). Quote that contains more than three words in text is transcribed separately, without quotation marks, with the indentation of 4 cm from the left margin, letter body smaller than text (size 10) and simple-spaced. According to Onuchic (1999, p. 187): None intervention in the process of learning can make more difference that a good-educated, intelligent and able teacher. Invest on quality of training is what matter. The teacher s preparation has a direct effect in students [...]. 1.2 Indirect or free citation These are reproduction of somebody else s ideas without any literal transcription of the used words. Although they are free, they must be faithful to the meaning of the original text. They don t need to be written between quotations. The Brazilian educational reform of the second half of 90s is, by herself, in her particularity, such change of the Brazilian social structures. Therefore, in this period, we watched many paradigmatic transformations in this sphere. Illustrates this affirmation, the curricular reformation realized in all levels and modalities, in a centralized way, for experts of our bests universities, institutes and research s foundations: the reform in the financing education together with an evaluative polity took by term for the Evaluation National System, among others measures in the same area (SILVA JUNIOR, 2002).
5 To quote a work with two or three authors, should be indicated all names separated by semicolon, followed by the publication s date. Verifying the nature of some chemical products, even in low concentration of water, can be ingested by aquatics organisms, that are eaten by predatory fishes, bio-accumulating in its tissue, representing a potential risk for man, birds and other animals that eat fishes (MACKENTHUN; BREGMAN, 1991). 1.3 Quotations of Quotations When the author does not use the original text, but a quotation taken from a consulted work, the quotation might be reproduced literally, or be interpreted, summarized or translated. This kind of quotation must be avoided, because the actual book has not been consulted and there is the risk of the quotation being interpreted wrongly. In this case, we use the Latin expression apud, followed by indication of the source effectively consulted, and the data of the original document must be mentioned in a footnote.
