3 Introduction Introduction is written on an individual page of the seminar paper. It is written as an original text of the author. Introduction refers particularly to the topic of the seminar paper and includes brief and apposite description of the issue, characterizes the state of recognition or praxis in the field in question, and informs the reader with the seminar paper topic importance, its aims and intentions. In the introduction the author accentuates the reasons why the seminar paper is important, and why he/she decided to address the subject. Introduction is usually written in present tense. Past tense can be used in case we want to describe our findings. Introduction, as a chapter title, is not numbered and its sufficient extent is approximately up to 10 sentences.

4 1 Basic instructions for the writing of the seminar paper The main goal of the seminar paper is to address the given topic and to summarize the relevant information related to the topic so that the author s ability to work with scientific literature is demonstrated. Parts of the seminar paper are as follows, title-page, content, introduction, body, conclusion and bibliography. The body of seminar paper can consist of several chapters or subchapters. Each main chapter starts on an individual page. Desired extent of seminar paper is at least 3 pages in the fall semester and at least 5 pages in the spring semester. Extent of the body should not exceed 7 pages. By the extent of body/seminar paper we mean the extent of body text the plain text written in chapters or subchapters (the text in content, introduction, conclusion and bibliography is not included) Author is expected to use at least 3 sources (in the fall semester), 5 sources (in the spring semester). 1.1 Method of quoting Text, taken over from the used resources, should be marked with references, so that the used source can be clearly identified by the reader. Expected usage of quoting method is explained in this subchapter. Method of quoting means the clear designation of facts taken over from the texts of the other authors, and the stating of the source from which they are taken over. Method of quoting follows the practice in the field of science in question, respecting relevant standards. The same method of quoting must be used in the whole seminar paper. There is a difference between quoting and paraphrasing however, in both cases reference must be stated. Text literally taken over from the other sources should be marked with quotation marks. Extent of the quotation should not exceed two or three sentences it is recommended to use the quotation for expressing main ideas or basic definitions. Other texts need to be translated or paraphrased written in your own words, rephrased, reformulated. Even though the text is reformulated it has to be cited and the references

5 have to be stated, because the main idea of the text belongs to the other author and you are expected to mention the source from which the information was taken. The only text that does not have to be cited is your own text with your own original ideas. If the scientific discipline in question has no specified method of quoting, it is recommended to follow the standard ISO 690. Standard ISO 690:2010(E) Information and documentation Guidelines for bibliographic references and citations to information resources. Statements in the text should be linked to the bibliographic details of the information resources which support those statements. There are 3 possible methods of citation: Name and date system (Harvard system), Numerical system and Running notes. All methods are equal, but in the case of subject Introduction to Management I, II you are expected to use running notes method (notes bellow the line). Example: For managers, the key point of being scientific is to make sure you maintain a sense of skepticism, by always questioning and measuring what you hear, read, and do at work. 1 Ali 2 noticed that manager should possess an in-depth knowledge of his/her chosen field. The examples of the references to printed books or other used sources are at the end of the document. In the notes below line it is not necessary to mention ISSN, ISBN or DOI number. These have to be a part of the references in Bibliography. In the running notes below the line number of page, or pages from which the information are taken over is stated. (DESSLER, G. Left margin 3,5 cm, right margin 2 cm, top and bottom margin 2,5 cm c) Titles. Main titles font style is Times New Roman, size 14 pt, bold First subtitle - font style is Times New Roman, size 12 pt, bold Second subtitle - font style is Times New Roman, size 12 pt, italic d) Text. Pages are counted from the title page but the page numbers are showed from Introduction (page numbers have to be centered, size 10 pt, line spacing 1) f) Running notes. Font style is Times New Roman, size 10 pt, line spacing Illustrations By illustrations we meanobjects like graphs, tables, pictures, schedules, etc. It is not necessary to distinguish different types of illustrations. All can be marked as picture, it depends on the author whether the graphs will be marked as graph or picture. All illustrations have to be numbered and named. Also references have to be stated. The illustrations must directly follow the text of their first mention and they have to be described and explained in the text. Illustrations have to be centered. 8 Conclusion In the conclusion the key findings are summarized, eventually, the author s opinions or the suggestions for the next discussion can be stated. The extent of the conclusion of the seminar paper is approximately up to 10 sentences. Conclusion as a chapter is not numbered and it is written in past tense.

9 Bibliography Bibliography is a list of literature used and includes a full list of bibliographic references. Extent of this section is determined by the number of used literal sources, which must correspond to the quotations used in the text.
