2 Director s Welcome I d been thinking about directing for a while but it wasn t till I was approached by CTP to direct a musical for their Jubilee year, that I jumped at it. I thought: something new, a comedy with a small cast and memorable music! Adrift in Macao premiered in New York City in It is meant to be a playful reflection of a certain kind of glamorous Hollywood movie and there are indeed references to some of the better-known ones, including The Maltese Falcon and Teahouse of the August Moon. The dialogue is witty and the music is sensational! I d first and foremost like to give a HUGE thankyou to Chris McMahon, without whose tireless around-the-clock efforts this production would never have gotten off the ground. Also, to the entire CTP committee and helpers behind the scenes and backstage who made directing the production feel so easy. The music is jazzy and syncopated, it s very complex and extremely difficult to play, so when I say thank you to Julie Simpson, it is from the bottom of my heart! The music drives the plot and you have certainly managed to do that. Also, to Brian King, our pianist and the entire orchestra what a depth of talented musicians we have on the coast! I d like to thank our brilliant cast whose dedication and hard work have brought this show to life WELL DONE! Marcoola R Community Bank Branch presents W E D D I N G S and an Romantic Comedy MONDAY 8PM & WED 4TH 7PM Coolum Civic Centre, Park St. SYNOPSIS Sandy, the four-times-married-threetimes-divorced owner of a wedding chapel in Las Vegas, has certainly seen her fair share of matrimonies! In the hilarious and heart-warming Four Weddings and an Elvis, we witness four of her most memorable: Bev and Stan, who are getting married as revenge on their exes; Vanessa and Bryce, two arrogant, aging stars who are tying the knot as a publicity ploy; and Martin and Fiona, a gentle postal-worker and a tough excon who couldn t be more in love! However, the final wedding is the most touching of all: Sandy s fifth and final wedding to the love of her life. The only exception is Stan. His character will not re-appear, but the actor who played him will appear as the Producer in this scene. Ken will also make a brief appearance.
