5 DRAMA Task 1- WARM UP Practice the following tongue twisters- repeat each one at least 4 times. How fast can you go? 1. Unique New York 2. Red Leather, Yellow Leather 3. Smelly shoes and socks shock sisters. 4. How much wood could a wood chuck; chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood. 5. Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked. If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, Where s the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked? Experiment with the tongue twisters: Say it fast then slow Say it loud then as a whisper Try with different accents- American, farmer, very posh, cockney etc
6 Creating Drama Everyone enjoys a good sketch, play or creating scripts and using your imagination is extremely important in Drama. TASK 2- Write a short script. Please use a variety of characters, exciting adventures and a cliff hanger ending. What happens inbetween is up to you! Firstly, set your characters (around 3 works well for a short script). Who are your characters? Characters: e.g. a Victorian orphan called Nancy- resilient, cheeky and light footed. An alien chief called Clackkkkclaw- serious, ruthless and ambitious. A wise old man called Fred- friendly, frugal and a secret robber Where is it set? e.g. space, a smelly cellar in London, a theme park in America... When is it set? In world war 2, the future
7 TASK 3- Create a story board: Using your script ideas- draw and annotate important aspects of your story.
8 TASK 4- Grab some friends, an ipad/phone & act out your storyboard! Film your play- become a superstar! Send your ideas to the NLL- Performing Arts Department! See the website on how to upload or where to send work

10 Musical Parody Parody music, or musical parody, involves changing or copying existing (usually well known) musical ideas or lyrics, or copying the particular style of a composer or artist, or even a general style of music. Although the intention of a musical parody may be humour it is the re-use of music that is the original defining feature.
