20 Year 8 Composition. When composing a song, symphony, brass ensemble piece or any type of musical composition composers will start by working out what chords they are going to use. A chord is where we have 3 notes sounding well together. We need to pick which chords we are going to use and which rhythm to play them to. We are going to use the information on the next page to help use compose ( make up) a musical four bar chord structure. Remember to keep in time with the metre when you are trying to play them or record them. 20

21 Composing Using Back-Beats You will compose a piece of music using a back-beat rhythm and chords. Here s an example.
