DONORPROFILE Do not be afraid to take chances, because if you keep standing on sidelines all your life, you won t make the best of it. Remember to always challenge yourself to think and act in innovative ways. FACTS: ID-release, Donor s Decision in 18 years Height: 180 Weight: 65 Hair colour: Blond Eye colour: Brown Blodtype: B Rh. Neg Occupation: Studies History and Arabic at the university Read an English version on page 2

2/13 / Meeting the donor our impression Donor Shelton is a young man of great integrity. He has the most harmonious character - nothing can knock him out of course. He remains calm and with mental capacity no matter what happens. Donor Shelton has a good head for money matters, and his flair for good investments has made him quite well-off at a young age. Shelton is simply good company. He has a unique ability to make our staff laugh and smile with his black humour and funny remarks. There is always a wry smile on Shelton s lips which makes him look a little bit mysterious. Shelton s casual look matches his laid-back attitude to life very well. He is always wearing shorts even on chilly and rainy days. Shelton is eager to know as much as possible about being a donor - asking a lot of questions about the donor programme and how everything works. He is very conscious about his choice to become an ID-release donor and says that he would be happy to meet his donor children if they wish to meet him in 18 years. English version of the letter on the front page: Dear parents and donor child, I must say that it hasn t been easy writing this let-ter, because I feel like I m in a kind of strange po-sition. Firstly, I don t actually know to whom I m writing this letter. But, what I do know is that you, as future parents, for one reason or another ha-ven t been able to get children by yourself. There-fore, makes me very happy to help you make your dream come true. All the parents I know feel de-lighted and fortunate that they have had children - a choice that has brought a lot of experiences and meaning to their lives. Likewise, I hope the same thing will happen to you. Secondly, it s even more special that I m writing this to a child who does not yet exist. So, I really think deeply about what to say to you my future donor child. I will take the opportunity to give you a piece of advice: Do not be afraid to take chances, because if you keep standing on sidelines all your life, you won t make the best of it. Remember to always challenge yourself - to think and act in innovative ways. Apart from that, you should know that I find it really cool to take part in the making you. If you should want to meet me one day, it would be interesting to see how much you reflect my personality and appearance. Lastly, I want to humbly thank you for choosing me. I am sure that you won t regret it. All well! Kindest regards, Shelton

Are you right- or left-handed? Right handed Please describe the condition of your teeth? (good, average, bad) Good How many standard drinks do you consume in an average week? 0-7 Do you smoke? If yes, what do you smoke and how many a day on average? Yes, cigarettes. ~5 per day. Do you suffer from allergies? / Personality Describe your personality Easy going, optimistic, hard-working, confident, curious and independent. Describe your weaknesses I am often quite stubborn if I m sure that I m right. I am also really curious about the world around me, so much that I can sometimes find it difficult to focus on tasks for a longer period of time. This often results in me putting off important tasks until the last minute, because I am engaged in other things. Describe your strengths I m really good at being deeply absorbed in things and to make rational decisions based upon what I ve learnt. Apart from that, I m great at prioritizing the things that are important to me in life. By doing this I don t waste time on barren things. I m pretty practically oriented and I am fast at studying and learning to do things/methods that are new to me. I have an optimistic approach to life, and I m joyous and happy most of the time. I don t waste my time worrying about what could go wrong. I live life as it comes to me. This is sometimes also my weakness, because sometimes I throw myself into doing things that others would find dangerous. What are you most proud of and why? I m proud of the fact that I have managed to move to a foreign country all by my own. To a

Extended profile 5/13 country where I didn t know anything about the language, the culture or even one single person. Despite this, I managed to make friends and make great relations with my neighbours. Describe your fondest childhood memory A have great childhood memories about me and my friends playing with toy softguns. Describe some of your best experiences Cruising the street of Beirut in a Corvette at top speed. Kayaking on the lakes around Silkeborg on a beautiful summer day. What did you dream of becoming as a child? A farmer. I grew up in the countryside, and I were surrounded by cattle and tractors, which I found to be very interesting. Describe your relationship with your family? I have a great relationship with everybody in my closest family whom I see quite often. What does your family mean to you? Very much. My parents and my siblings are always there to help and support me. Even though we are different persons and do not always agree, our relationship is very close. How would your friends and family describe you? My friends would probably describe me as a spontaneous and - at the same time - relaxed person who takes things in their stride. They would probably also say that I am good to talk to when they need to discuss complex decisions and new ideas, as I am honest and would never advise them to do things that could be bad for them. My family would probably describe me as slightly absent-minded, and as a son/brother that deeply cares about them and will always be there to love and support them. How are your math skills? Good How are your motor skills? Good, even though I am not a parkour champion. What is your zodiac sign? Capricorn Which famous person or celebrity can you identify yourself with? I don t really follow the celebrity culture, so I can t really identify with any of them What does friendship mean to you? Friendships mean the world to me. I prefer a few strong friendships instead of many superficial acquaintances. What kind of friend are you? I am a friend who is always there for my friends even though we - for some reason - have not seen each other for a while.

6/13 / Education and employment Did you do well, average or poorly in primary school? Above average What did you like best about going to school? To be with my friends What educations have you started? BA in History and Arabic Did you serve in the military? If yes, for how long and at what rank? Work history? Various spare-time and student jobs What is your career goal? To be self-employed What educations have you completed? BA in History and Arabic / Hobbies Favourite movie? Flickering Lights Favourite book? Lord of the Rings What kind of music do you like? Favourite artists? Classical music, rock and heavy metal Opeth, and the composer Sibelius Do you play any instruments? Other hobbies, interests or talents? Other than my studies at the university, my interests lie in the realm of technology and how it can better the lives of people, and the flipside, how it can also hurt people which got me interested in IT security and cryptography. I m also interested in stock investment and investment in other assets - an interest which over the years has been able to cover a nice chunk of my living expenses. What languages do you speak? Danish, English and Arabic How do you prefer to travel and why? I like to travel to places that are not touristy, and to explore areas that seldom have other visitors than the local population.

Extended profile 7/13 / Marital status and children Are you married, in a relationship or single? Single Do you have any children? Are there any twins or triplets in your family? Have you or members of your family experienced difficulties when trying to conceive? / Why do you want to become a donor? To help people who - for some reason - are not able to have children by themselves. To give them the joy of having a child. The money also means a little bit, but since I have enough money to support myself the next 10 years or more, it is by far not the most important motivating factor to me.
