Capricorn Controls DA01XTM1-1 Data & Application Note Page 1 of 6 XTM72 Exerciser Timer Module Genset Controls - Timers - Monitors - Trips - Battery Charging - Spares & Accessories - Custom Products This D.C. powered, 7-Day, Real Time Clock was custom designed to compliment our range of Gen-Set controls to provide true 7-days On / 7-days Off switching ( flip/flop Mode) for use in Mutual Standby Systems. However, this versatile unit can be switched between normal or flip/flop operating modes, making it an ideal choice in a wide range of applications. Two small (DIP) switches (marked 1 & 2) are accessed through the top of the module, move Up for On and Down for Off. 1 - Select On (FF/1) for flip/flop operation on channel - 1 Select Off (FF/1) for normal operation on channel - 1 2 - Select On (BATT) to activate the real time clock (It will require programming - see overleaf). Select Off (BATT) to isolate the internal NiCad battery if the DC supply is removed for > 24 hrs. Key Points DIN 72mm square module with industry standard two-piece connector. Release the clock button the clock is now running as indicated by the flashing hyphen. Prog. Programme mode Up to 3 x On and 3 x Off operations per day (42 per week). Note: If the entry is interrupted (or finished) the display reverts to true time and automatic operation within 40 sec s. It may be necessary to start program entry again. Start of Program entry: Press >Prog. < button Setting of weekly program: The display shows --:-- --, two points are flashing on the right hand side. Select Channel 1 or Channel 2 by pressing >C1 < or >C2 < ( command by pressing once and command by pressing twice). Now the arrow above 1 (Monday) is flashing. If the command settings are for Monday, enter with >Prog.< button. Different or further days can be selected with the > d < button and entered with the >Prog.< button. If switching command is for Monday to Friday at the same time, all 5 arrows must be displayed on top of the figures 1-5. For daily settings all 7 arrows must be displayed. After the entry of the day(s) enter the required switching time with the buttons > h < and > m <. Enter displayed switching command by pressing the >Prog.< button. If program entry is finished, press Clock button. Attention: If a switching command 08:00 On is entered Recall settings Recall On and Off settings one after the other with >Prog.< button. After all occupied memory locations, a free one is offered. By pressing >Prog.< once more, E end of program is displayed. Afterwards press >Clock <. Prog. Change or clearance of a command Recall the command by pressing >Prog.< and change it by pressing > d <, > h < and > m < or clear the command indicated by simultaneously pressing > h < + > m <. Afterwards press clock. 1 47 Holiday Program Holiday program to interrupt the automatic program for 1 to 47 days. Press & hold the >h < button, a two digit figure is displayed, increment this by successive presses of the > C1 < button. The maximum possible number of holidays is 47. The first holiday is the following day, which means at 00:00 hours the two channels are switched off and the display shows H Off / Off. To finish the holiday period earlier or if not required at all, set the two-digit display to 00. Manual Override Press >C1< or >C2< to switch Channels 1 or 2 On or Off alternatively. The next counteracting automatic setting cancels the manual control. Permanent Control By simultaneously pressing Hand + > m <, the display will show a dot over the On or Off to indicate the permanent state. To change from one state to the other, again press Hand + > m < buttons together. To cancel the permanent over-ride press both the > m < + Hand buttons together, once or twice until the dot over the display British Summer Time Summer Time: + 1 hour, press > d < + > h < simultaneously Notes 1. It may also be required that the system is disabled from running at certain times of the day or week. The XTM72C is designed to provide both of these requirements. Initial Set Up --- see programming information 1/ Switch Internal Battery On 2/ Reset the unit (total clearance of all programming) 3/ Set the time of day Channel 1 = When system is required to run [ie: Monday Friday, 6.00pm to 6.00am] 1/ Set Dip-Switch for Normal operation on channel 1 (NOT Flip-Flop mode) 2/ Program : Monday Off at 6.00am (06.00hrs) & On at 6.00pm (18.00hrs) 3/ Repeat this program for Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 4/ Program : Friday Off at 6.00am (06.00hrs) System Required to Run In Normal mode the relay changes state in line with the programmed times. Channel 2 = GenSet change-over [ie: Midnight Sunday, 7 Days On - - 7 Days Off] GenSet A GenSet B In Flip-Flop mode the relay changes state at each programmed transition from On to Off Thus, for the GenSets to changeover at mid-night each Sunday, program channel 2 On (for 1 hour) from Sat 11.00 pm (23.00 hrs) to Sat 12.00 pm (24.00 hrs).
