Anna s Fable Decodable 16B Reading Street Mister Tuttle is teaching fables in class. A fable is a tale that teaches a lesson. Some lessons may be more like riddles or puzzles. Last night, Anna settled in at her kitchen table. Her homework was to make up a fable. Today in class, it was Anna s turn to tell her fable. In her fable, a little turtle plays his fiddle rather than tackling winter chores. Turtle didn t want to work, just play that fiddle under his maple tree. Sometimes Turtle stopped fiddling just to juggle little pebbles. But when winter came, Turtle did not find a single thing to nibble, nor a bubble or trickle of water to drink.
