BASIC INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Receiver ENSURE THE CARAVAN HEATER MAIN POWER SWITCH IS OFF.(UNPLUG MAINS LEAD TO CARAVAN) REMOVE THE TWO BLANKING CAPS FROM THE TRUMA SWITCH, IF FITTED. REMOVE THE TWO FIXING SCREWS. REMOVE REAR COVER FROM TRUMA SWITCH. A SMALL SCREW DRIVER IN THE FOUR SLOTS WILL AID REMOVAL. PIPS MAY BREAK OFF. CAREFULLY UNPLUG THE 10 WAY CONNECTOR FROM EXISTING SWITCH, DO NOT PULL WIRES. EASE LOCATING TABS TO AID REMOVAL OF CONNECTOR. FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTION SHEET FOR THE RECEIVER REMOVE THE FRONT PLATE. SEE PAGE 5. RECONNECT THE 10 WAY CONNECTOR TO THE RECEIVER OBSERVING CORRECT ORIENTATION. FIT RECEIVER INTO BOX USING THE SPACERS PROVIDED IF REQUIRED. REFIT THE FRONT PLATE TAKING CARE THAT THE SWITCH,LED AND 5 WAY CONNECTOR ARE CORRECTLY LOCATED. PUSH THE TOP OF THE RECEIVER FULLY HOME, DO NOT ADJUST THE TOP FIXING SCREW. TO REMOVE PULL TOP OF RECEIVER TOWARDS YOU. THE RECEIVER CAN BE FITTED INTO A PANEL ADJACENT TO THE TRUMA SWITCH. A 51mm SQUARE HOLE IS REQUIRED TO BE CUT INTO PANEL. A MINIMUM OF 30mm IS REQUIRED BEHIND THE PANEL. IT COULD ALSO BE FITTED INTO A CUPBOARD, AN EXTENSION LEAD WILL BE REQUIRED. ASK FOR DETAILS. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADAPTED RECEIVER. PROGRAM THE TRANSMITTER TO YOUR PREFERED TIME/TEMPERATURE SETTINGS. (PRESS CENTRE OF UP/ DOWN BUTTONS) YOU MAY FIND IT EASIER WITH THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT LID OPEN FIT THE BUILT IN STAND SEE PAGE 4, STAND PROGRAMMER AT DESIRED LOCATION. REMEMBER TO PACK UNIT AWAY WHILST TRAVELLING. PROGRAMMER MAY BE SURFACE MOUNTED,REMOVE BACK PLATE, SEE PAGE 5, FIX TO SURFACE, REFIT PROGRAMMER TO BACK PLATE. SWITCH MAIN POWER SWITCH ON, WAIT FOR 2 SECONDS.IF PROGRAMMER IS NOT CALLING FOR HEAT THE RED LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON FOR APPROX. 3 MINUTES. SELECT AUTO (A) ON THE HEATER FAN CONTROL, SPEED 3. THE FAN WILL RUN VERY SLOW UNTIL TEMPERATURE BUILDS UP SO WARM AIR CAN BE CIRCULATED AROUND CARAVAN. IF YOU REQUIRE ONLY CONVECTION DO NOT SWITCH FAN ON. PRESS PUSH BUTTON TO SELECT REQUIRED HEAT OUTPUT:- YELLOW LED - 500 WATTS GREEN LED - 1000 WATTS RED LED- - - - 2000 WATTS NO LED LIT - OFF, NO HEAT SELECTED. TOP BLUE LED - CALLING FOR HEAT TOP RED LED - R/F FAILED. SEE INSTALATION # 1 SHEET PAGE 4 IF PROGRAMMER IS CALLING FOR HEAT, THE HEATER WILL OPERATE IN THE NORMAL WAY. 2
SIMPLIFIED PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS ----- Transmitter unit. Within programming mode, transmitter unit will automatically resume operating after a delay of 30 seconds if no buttons are pressed. Internal setting (user adjustable) These internal settings are selective, set the Date/Clock before programming this Transmitter unit. Press and hold SET for 6 seconds to enter setting selection mode. Follow the flashing Symbols on LCD to complete following settings. Press centre of button or 1.C/F: Press or to display Fahrenheit or Centigrade. 2.Press OK to enter next setting( 24H/12H) use or buttons to select. Press OK 3.Repeat procedure by pressing OK to set Year, Month, Day, Time, Switching differential (Hysteresis) set at 1. Filter hours. Leave this at - - - - as this is not required. 4.Press Ok to complete settings. Setting the required times/temperatures into transmitter. Programming 7-d Each day of week, can be programmed separately. 1. Press SET once to enter program setting, Temp set will flash 2.Press or to set desired temperature set point for 1st program period (MORN) 3.Press Ok to enter start time for1st program Press or to set start time. Continue to set all time/temperatures for Mon (NOON, Break, EVEN, NIGHT) 4.By pressing OK after setting 1st program you can continue to program Tu, We, Th, Fr, Sa, Su. Or see Copy below. 5.When entire programming is completed, pressing Set twice and then OK programmer will start operating. Copy day settings function. 1.Press Set to enter program setting, (temp set flashing) then Press Set again. From will flash 2. Press to select the reference-day. 3. Press Ok after reference-day selected. To will flash. 4.Keep Pressing and OK to select the days of week to copy to. 5.Press OK twice, after desired days for copying are selected, programmer will now be set to RUN. OVERRIDE FUNCTION M BUTTON. Operating guide to each of the 4 modes. A. Temporary Override- Change current temperature setting until next set point. 1.Press or to adjust temperature. Temp. Set will flash. 2.Wait for 10 seconds, thermostat shall automatically run this temporary override set point. (or press OK to run this override without waiting for 10 seconds) 3.While Temporary Override is in running, Pressing OK will revert to normal settings. B. Comfort Override. Change current temperature set point to new set point for desired hours. Thermostat will resume its original Programming after Comfort Override time has ended. 1.Press M 2. Press or to adjust desired temperature. Temp. Set flashing 3. Press OK to select desired hours run time for comfort override 4.Press or to set desired hours (minimum 1 hour). 5. Press OK to run Comfort Override. 6.Press OK again will end Comfort Override. C. Permanent Hold Temperature---Hold temperature at desired set point permanently until it is cancelled. 1.Press M 2. Press M again, Temp. Set will flash. 3.Press or to set desired temperature. Permanent Hold Temp is displayed. 4. Press OK to run Permanent Hold Temperature 5.Press OK again will end Permanent Hold Temperature. D. Temperature Until (Holiday Hold)---Hold temperature at desired set point until specified date. 1.Press M 2. Press M twice again. Temp. Set will flash. 3.Press or to set desired temperature. 3. Press OK to select desired duration of Hold-Temperature Until. 4.Press or to select Month, Press OK, 5.Press or select desired DAY. 5.Press OK to run Hold Temperature Until. 6.Press OK again to end Hold Temperature Until. Reset to factory settings. Pressing OK and together for 6 seconds, Reset will appear in LCD display. Press Reset button. All previous setting shall be deleted, programming will resume its default setting. 3

ULTRA-VANSTAT INSTALLATION # 1----- Fixing plug-in stand and replacing batteries Fixing the Plug-in stand on transmitter unit 1.Insert " head Screw driver into position shown above. 2.Push upward. Make sure bevel Faces down Receiver unit R/F signal lost. Led permanently on. Heating will switch off after 10 minutes if R/F transmission does not resume. Manual button. If R/F signal is lost i.e. flat batteries in transmitter, This button can be used to switch heating on or off. When signal is restored temperature is controlled by the transmitter. DO NOT LEAVE IN MANUAL MODE UNATTENDED. 3.Pull stand off back plastic housing. 5.Push down until locking tabs click into place 4.Push stand into storage groove 6.The stand is now fixed. Push stand down to remove When low battery symbol is displayed, change batteries immediately. Do not use rechargeable batteries. Open battery compartment to Access batteries. Upper compartment 2 x AAA to power transmitter. E&OE Lower compartment 2 x AAA to power back light and Transmitter. 4

ULTRA-VANSTAT INSTALLATION # 2----- -RF Address- Code setting To open and close the Transmitter unit ( A flat head screwdriver will assist removal of cover) To open To close RF Address Code Setting The code (DIP Switches) is set at Capricorn Controls. This will only need to be changed if your system is in close proximity to another Ultra-Vanstat as this could cause erratic operation. 1.Insert screw-driver Into slot as shown in picture 1.Locate tabs as shown. RECEIVER 2.Gently leaver downward to loosen the back plate 2.Press firmly to close. TRANSMITTER 3.Open as shown To open and close the Receiver unit To open To close Switch both Transmitter and Receiver DIP-Switches in the same position i.e. 1 on 2 off 3 off 4 off 1.Pull the top edge of the front plate towards you. Separate the two halves taking care not to damage or move the LED and Switch 1.Place TAB into the slot on the bottom of housing Follow these instructions if the receiver is already mounted into a box or panel in the Caravan TAB 2.Ensure the LED and Switch shaft are located into holes, push forwards then ensure the 5 pin connector lines up with pins at the top of unit, push firmly home. Do not adjust the top screw, the front is held by friction 5
GENERAL INFORMATION TH-920D(TX) + RV-035610356H Programmable R/F Thermostat-pair This Programmable R/F controlled Room Thermostat-Pair consists of a mobile Transmitter Unit TH-920D(TX) and a Receiver unit RV- 0356/0356H which is designed with flush-mounting structure to fit most commercially available recessed 60 mm. boxes. A surface - mount box for installing this unit can also be used. Its installation requires no wiring between Transmitter & Receiver and can be fitted in any normal operating environment within 30 meters range between the two units. The soft Keys in the Transmitter are made of translucent rubber to allow Blue LED to project through to allow use in dim surroundings. The working frequency is marked on the top right of plastic housing on both Transmitter and Receiver. The marked frequency on both units must be consistent, or this thermostat pair will not operate. The transmitter unit is powered by 4 x AAA Alkaline batteries, 2 batteries to power the thermostat, another 2 to power the Blue backlight and transmitter. Do not use rechargeable batteries. The Receiver unit is powered from the main heater control board behind the Caravan heater, 12 volt DC. Via 10 pin connector behind the Truma switch. Overall weight of system 250grms.
