I looked everywhere for a red letter replacement, LCBC has one that is not red letter. Bibles, Mid Size about 1 hour ago from Media Mail and I must say I was quite surprised considering I never had used them for something like this before. But just like my last Scriptures, it came through Magnificently. This is a Christmas Present for my wife as she fell in-love with mine when I bought my set. So it is gonna be hard to keep out of her sight since it is just me and her now and the kids are on their own. But the Scriptures are beautifully crafted and I will have to wait and have time to Properly Break it in, ie holding the pages and going from both cover to cover then a few pages at a time and fold at the binding. My folks showed me to do this o all bibles and books that you want to keep. It can be seen on You Tube. But again Thank You for an excellent set of Scriptures and a great buy. I am so thankful for CBP Bibles. Even the aroma of leather, per what other customers also say, permeating the room is so delightful!!! The materials used are so very beautiful. The red letter is awesome. I love the black ink saturation of the font too. And it is true, the paper is soft to the touch. I over 10 very nice Bibles and I use 5 of them literally weekly. There are some important things to me in a Bible depending on its purpose â is it for studying and notes but not toting? Is it for travel use but too small for notes? Is it too heavy? Are the margins too small to handle notes well? Is the paper poor quality or the ink prone to smudging? Can the binding going to stand up to wear and use longer than a month? Can it handle being moved around a lot? I am hard on a Bible. I use them heavily. That Bible has stood up to use that not even a Cambridge can handle. Its as well made as ANY available. The Cover is exceptionalâ the Binding excellentâ the Print, font, line spacing and Ink are nearly perfect. The margins nice and wide without being a wide margin per se. Note pages are of course included and the paper is a good solid 22 pound stark white. It is gorgeous but its built to last. BUT there is bad news!!! There are not many of these at a limited run of only remaining. So take it from an Old fashioned Bible preacherâ. I will be posting a Youtube vid review on this soon. The printing is clear and bold to read, even the notes and the cross references. I live the many pages for notes located in the back. Love the maps as well, clear, bold and colorful. The extra helps such as concordance, subjects, and names, very nice for in depth study. The small edging space on each page is a plus for me, for quick notes. Honestly this calfskin is crazy soft, at first it was a bit stiff but now its so floppy soft that bible yoga is not a problem. Not only is the outside amazing but the print is dark through out the whole text block and having the pages for notes is a great decision for CBP to add. 3 Chapter 2 : R.L. Allan Bibles (USA) Premium Calfskin Leather, Black, Red Letter The ESV Large Print Bible features generous point type and clear black letter text for easier reading and reference. A true large print edition, it includes an extensive concordance, introductions that summarize the themes and messages of each Bible book, and helpful full-color maps. It has come to my attention that this review is being lumped together with reviews of an entirely different format. I hope this clarifies some confusion. While the 9-point text is easy for me to read, I also liked the simplicity of the text layout, which contains only a few references at the bottom of every other page. This is the perfect bible to just read if side notes, references, or double columns on each page distract you. The burgundy and brown band design looks good, however I found the brown to be more of a darker burgundy. Another surprise I found was that each page is painted with gold trimming. Overall this is a classy looking bible and I would imagine Crossway will continue to use this as a blueprint for long time to come. A sample of the text can be found here: July 31, Type Size: There are some translator notes at the bottom of the page. It is single-column, which I find easier to read without giant print. In addition, in the poetic sections, there is a great deal of white space around the text, which also makes reading easier. On the other hand, in the prose sections, the text comes pretty close to the edge. This gives the page a blocky, crowded look, and leaves no room for notes, if one is the sort to write notes in his bible. The cover is also very nice. The synthetic leather is flexible, with a smooth feel. The color mine is brown with a plum band across the middle is pleasant and attractive. There is a table of contents, but otherwise no index or concordance. The maps in the back and the translation notes are the only study aids provided. Those with knowledge of such things tell me that the ESV translation is very close to the Greek and Hebrew. The binding seems a little cheap, with the spine bucking when opened. But I see it is appropriate for the price. It lies flat, when opened to the middle, but tends to flop closed near the front or back. Red text is not used in the Gospels. I think it would be best for use in church, rather than for private reading. The text is large enough at 9pt. Single column and words of Christ in black make for very good reading. One slight drawback - the inner margin could have been just slightly wider. You have to spread the bible open to see the inner edge well. This is not as bad in some other compact bibles I have seen. Great Bible--returned Thinline and Legacy versions because this is best! By Jj on May 07, I just bought this Bible and love it. The Bible lays open easily, except at the very beginning and the end better than the Thinline in this regard again. The cons I see with this Bible are: The Legacy Bible is so big and bulky and has all this white space on the page. It looks like they just forgot to make the font bigger to fill up the page. Plus, the inner margins are just a little too small so the words go just a bit too far towards the center crease. The Thinline Bible in Genuine Leather has a cover that feels really stiff and cheap. I still use it for school but I just forbear the issue I have with it. I thought it would go away after being broken in, but it still does not lay flat unfortunately. Since the NT is a portion that is probably most read by many Christians, this can be very frustrating to read in private and in public. Edit - It is getting a little bit better now, but still not ideal. Font is too small for comfortable reading, but the lined margins are great. The bible itself is well made and beautiful and has the wide margins that I was looking for. It is a great carry around bible as the size is 6. The problem for me is the size of the font - it is 7. I will be reselling it and looking for a larger type bible. On another note, I wish they would make something like this with the wide margin in the NIV version. Beautiful, readable, library quality By R. Tuggy on Oct 30, I was wanting a good reading copy for a gift for my husband. We both love this one. I was very happy to find this one in a more gender-neutral color scheme than mine, and the single-column print is extremely readable and well-spaced on the page. Good sale price, too. I like the leaves on the cover. The pages are easy to turn and not too thin to journal. For a near-sighted person, it is just a little too small to be comfortable with. I would suggest purchasing this Bible for journaling. However, since this is marketed as a premium product, the standards are high. That is very difficult to get rid of. I thought it Page 3

I also have enjoyed exploring the ESV version. It is very similar to the NIV. The font is small, but it needs to be to make room for the journaling margins. The paper is a cream color and a little thicker than regular bible pages. Not only is it a tight translation, but it also keeps much of the unique sentence structure and flow I so relish in the classical languages. I must admit that I was very very surprised with this book. First off it was free so I expected nothing more than a bible that I would have to infinitely scroll through or search to find what I wanted. However this in not the case The book and chapter selection is nice and with a couple of clicks on the next page button you can easily get to where you want I was also surprised that the book includes footnote links to the measurements and other footnotes. What a great feature. So if you are wondering how many feet in those cubits simply select the link and find out! All in all WAY more than I ever expected in a free book. I definitely did not expect to find such a wonderful version for free. I would recommend it for anyone. An excellent Bible and navigation By Michael A. Steen on May 08, I have no complaints whatever regarding the translation of this Bible. Regarding the Kindle version, the navigation is easy and straightforward, though not as sophisticated as the TNIV, which has navigation straight to each book, chapter, and verse. I like to read the Bible from the beginning of the old and the beginning of the new testaments simultaneously. If you select "Go to beginning" on the menu, it takes you to the Table of Contents, not to the beginning of, say, Luke. Since I wrote this review originally, though, I have found an excellent workaround for the above problem. That removes my last objection, and I up my review to 5 stars.
