3 Introduction & How to Use This Book Welcome to the My Bible Copy Book series! Recently I have been inspired by several articles and blog posts I have read online. I have been inspired to begin copying the Bible in a more systematic way. Not just a few verses here and there, but whole books of the Bible at a time. In the Old Testament, the kings were instructed to write for himself a copy of this law on a scroll. There was a reason for this instruction and I think it applies to us today as well. If you think about it, when you copy a verse from the Bible you end up reading it about three times. You first read a few words out of your Bible, then you read the words a second time as you repeat them back in your head as you copy them onto your paper, then you read them the third time after you copy them to make sure you copied them correctly. Copying Scripture forces you to slow down and really think about each word you are writing, allowing the Lord to speak to you through His Word. Each book in this series will contain pages to copy one complete book of the Bible. I have provided a page for each chapter that can be printed as many times as needed. The book and chapter headings are placed at the top right of the page so that when the pages are placed in a notebook you will easily be able to flip through to find a particular passage. Each of the chapter pages has short gray lines on the left side that can be used to write the verse number at the beginning of each verse.

4 I have also included a Notes page that you can use to jot down notes as you are copying documenting what the Lord is showing you through your study of His Word. This Notes page can be printed on the backside of each of the Bible Copy Book pages, so that you have your Notes page on the left side, and the verses you are copying on the right. A cover page, with a place to write your name, is also provided for you to use if you wish. After the cover page is a short summary page stating the book s author, audience, setting, and key verse or passage. You can use these to put in the front of your Copy Books or make your own! Chapter Pages and Notes Pages are provided in both younger and older versions. This will allow younger children that want to copy the Bible to have lined pages to use. The older version can be used for older children and adults. Because this is an ebook, it can be printed on any kind of paper you wish. You can print on copy paper, 3-hole punch, and put in a 3-ring binder. You can print on some sturdier, heavy-weight paper, and place in sheet protectors in a 3-ring binder. Once a complete book of the Bible is copied, you can leave the pages in the binder or remove them and have them bound. These Copy Books will be a treasure to you and your family for years to come! Not only will you have another copy of the Bible, but you will have experienced God s work in your own heart and life through the experience, and documented this on the Notes pages.
