St. Patrick s Historic Church Collection Inventory

1 The collection for St. Patrick s Historic Church was difficult to arrange and is difficult to inventory in any format that is easy to use. Father Edward Hannin, Pastor of St. Patrick s for most of the period from 1862 until his death in 1902, used bound volumes for most of his records. Unfortunately, for an archivist trying to arrange the records in a logical order, he often used one volume for several different records. An attempt has been made to list all records in each volume with the years when they were given in the records. The researcher must be aware that any attempt to use the collection requires a close reading of the inventory. The collection is arranged generally with the bound volumes that would fit into the standard archives boxes first, followed by the loose paper documents, and finally the oversize bound volumes.
