1 MLA Bibliography Format Adapted from the Central Bucks School District "Writing Research Papers" Guidelines and the MLA Handbook, 7th Edition. Some pointers: 1. Alphabetize entries by author s last name, or title if no author s name is provided. 2. If you cannot find an author for the work, the title should appear first. 3. DOUBLE-SPACE the entire bibliography. 4. If an entry is more than one line, indent the following lines 5 spaces from the left margin. 5. DO NOT number your entries. Bibliography Format and Examples A Book with a Single Author Format: Last name, First name. Title. City of publication: Publisher, year. Medium of publication. Example: Durrett, Deanne. Unsung Heroes of World War II: The Story of the Navajo Code Talkers. New York: Facts on File, Print. A Book with Two Authors *Note: For two authors, give the full names of the authors in the same order as they appear on the title page. Use reverse form (Last name, First name) for author #1 and regular form for author #2. Format: Author #1 (Last name, First name),and Author #2 (First name Last name). Title. City: Publisher, year. Medium of publication. Example: Giddens, Sandra, and Owen Giddens. Choosing a Career as a Paramedic. New York: Rosen, Print. A Book with an Editor Format: Follow name with a comma and ed. Then continue entry as above. Example: Miller, Jonathan, ed. The Body in Question. New York: Random, Print.
