2 10 Things You Can Do Now to Improve Your Feng Shui! This ebook is meant to inspire you to make ten minor changes in your environment so that you can feel the effects of feng shui in your life. In fact, the goal of feng shui is to enhance your life! There is an energetic connection between the feng shui of your home and how successful you are in life; that is, successful in health, career, relationships with others, as well as our clarity, creativity, and feeling of abundance. According to feng shui philosophy, your home is a metaphor for how well you are in all three planes of existence: body, mind, and spirit. The energy, or chi, of your home affects your well-being and your well-being, in turn, affects your home. All opportunities you receive in life come through the mouth of chi or your front door, be it relationships or business deals. Therefore, it would be prudent to review your home with objective eyes and imagine opportunities are actually valued guests looking to have a visit. In order to increase the likelihood for abundance to reach you, try employing some of these easy tips to enhance success. Most of these tips will only take you less than 30 minutes to do! So do them now and feel the abundance of feng shui!

3 1. Go to Your Front Door Does your door open easily? If not, oil it! Is there stuff stored behind the door that prevents it from opening fully (at least 90 degrees)? If so, move all objects out of the way! 2. Go Outside Your Front Door Do you walk through an obstacle course to get to your front door? Do you have stacks of clutter beside the door, piling up and gathering stagnant chi? Are there burned out lights, dead leaves, or dead plants, there? If so, clear that out and replace bulbs immediately! Imagine that an important person is coming to visit you. Is your front entry area inviting and welcoming?

4 3. What Are Your Eyes Drawn To? Now take a deep breath and slowly walk into your house. What are your eyes drawn to immediately? Is it something pleasing and inspiring or causing you frustration or anxiety? Place something that you immediately see that will give you a sense of calmness or joy as you walk into your home at the end of every day! It could be a vase of fresh flowers or plant, or a photograph of friends and family, maybe even a beautiful piece of art. Make sure that it makes you feel good! 4. Command position Having command position for your bed and desk is most important not only for wealth and health, but also clarity and a sense of direction in your life. To have command position, you must position your bed or desk so that you: Can easily see the opening of the door to your room. Make sure you are not directly in-line with the door. Have a solid wall behind your bed and desk so you receive the best support. The best positioning is diagonal from the doorway. Try it! This positioning, if you can accommodate it, is the most supportive and powerful! If you cannot put your bed or desk in command position right now, place a mirror so that you can easily see the doorway.

5 5. Clean Stove According to Chinese philosophy, the stove is the seat of health and wealth for a family, as it provides the family nourishment so that they can work to provide for the family. Scrub your stove and make it sparkling clean! Also, all the burners of the stove should be used. So make sure that you rotate your use of the burners. 6. De-clutter Clutter represents being attached to the past. Clutter leads to stagnant chi and does not allow for receiving new opportunities. Clutter also adds to confusion and lack of clarity. So, take a few minutes and do a quick sweep of the main rooms in your house to get the clutter under control. If your clutter situation is more advanced you may need help. Read a book (Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui by Karen Kingston is great!) or enlist the help of a friend or professional. It is well worth it!

6 7. Bathroom door and toilet lid closed Many people have heard this one. Drains in the house represent areas that can lead to loss of money. So keeping the door closed and lids down will keep the money in the house! Go around your home and close all the toilet lids and close over each door. 8. Add Plants I assume that you have a few healthy, live plants in your home. All you need to do is move a few around. Stand at your front door facing into your home and determine where the back left corner of your home is. Place a large plant in this corner. Now, step into your family room and place a plant in the back left corner of this room. Finally, if you have a home office, place a plant in the back left corner of this room. You have now placed Wood energy in three of your Wealth corners. If those spaces do not have natural light, here is a list of a few plants you can purchase and replace these plants that should do fine in these areas: Bamboo, peace lily, golden pothos (pictured here), corn plant and mother-in-law s tongue (no joke!). These are very common plants and you can look these up on the internet. These are simple tips for increasing your wealth opportunities. 7 9. Water Energy Add a water fountain or mirror to the foyer or right by the front door. Both objects are water energy and will enhance opportunities coming through the front door. They generate movement and positive chi. Why do you think most Chinese restaurants have a fish tank by the front door? The water draws in positive chi which translates as customers! 10. Light up Dark Corners Look around your home: are there any areas of darkness and no natural light? Stagnant chi will collect in these spaces. To move the chi, place a lamp in this space. You can also place a plant or bright piece of artwork to move the stale chi. In places where there is too much yin energy, I like to say yang it up! Congratulations!
