You too could be a YouTube sensation! Surprise! How Humor Works as a Gateway to Healing Surprise is a revision impulse: My expectations don t work; what s up? Surprise is arguably an essential ingredient in humor. It s the unexpected punch line that makes us laugh. EEG studies show us that surprise (humor) initiates an orienting response. Humor requires not just dealing with the unexpected; it also activates the search for a new frame of reference. During this powerfully highsuggestible moment of cognitive revision, the patients/clients/students are profoundly susceptible to healing prompts and the creation of positive mindsets. Funny Means Money! Humor in Sales as a Competitive Business Edge You don t need to use humor in sales unless you want to be profitable! Any salesperson worth his or her salt knows humor is a great sales tool. But knowing it and doing it can be the difference in closing that sale or not. When used correctly, humor helps the seller break down objections, holds the buyer s attention, opens the buyer s mind, increases the seller s likability, and strengthens rapport. When used incorrectly well, don t go there. Instead, join neurohumorist Karyn Buxman and laugh all the way to the bank. Why I hate to Talk About Humor Using theory and humor itself, AATH s favorite Scandinavian standup comedian will speak on the benefits of laughter, humor and the importance of maintaining a positive attitude in life. 6:00 p-12:00 a Dinner and Awards Banquet Diamonds and Denim - Kiva Ballroom AB Memorials by Bobbe Lyon, Don Baird and Lenny Dave Singer Drew Hensley, background music by Jeffrey Briar Country line dancing, funk & rock and roll, dance the night away.
