1 WELCOME to our 2017 fleckvieh Bull offering We would like to say Thank You to our customers and visitors for thinking of us in your Fleckvieh needs. It s your input and conversations about your operations that assist us in building Fleckviehs to generate profit for you. This marks our 27th year of breeding Full Fleckvieh Simmentals. Our 100 head cow herd is of German and Austria Fleckvieh breeding. of raising full fleckvieh cattle Fleckvieh demand continues to surge here at Brink Genetics and the big advantages it brings to the table of everyday beef production is very unique in its ability to generate profit in more than one characteristic. Maternal power, efficient performance power, carcass power, and longevity power are what we set our goals around. This crop well exemplifies our breeding program with their sound and lean muscular confirmation and uniformity in kind. We have used the Stauffer Ultra sound program which has given us much accuracy for generations. All but only a couple bulls of this year s offering are grade choice and the majority of the group has excellent scan data. Our unique line breeding program is based around our dominant females, and tying them together through their sons. We keep a young herd bull battery by retaining sons out of our lead females each generation. Our selection criteria is based around fertility, structural soundness, body size, muscling, marbling, direct and maternal calving ease, performance, udder and milk quality, disposition, fleshing ability, and longevity. We cannot stress enough the importance of developing a strong cow herd. With our line breeding program, you as the customer get the big boost in heterosis, as well as the offspring uniformity. We have customers reporting lbs. improvement in weaning weights, as well as bringing the bottom end of their calf crop up to the middle, which calculates more profit. Bulls listed are Diluter free which means there will be no gray calves out of black cows unless stated different. We are also offering three polled bulls in this year s sale.

2 sale procedure is as follows: You are welcome to view the bulls on the farm, otherwise viewing will be done online. All bulls are prepriced. Let us know the bulls you are interested in for bidding. Please select spares in case you are unable to obtain your first choice; you can also select bulls during sale as long they are not already sold. An initial sale order will be provided online the day of the sale. All multiple interest bulls will be auctioned off by phone Thursday night, March 2nd starting 7:00 PM. Any lot selected as 2nd choice, those prospective buyers will be called upon during the auction. Any bull that has not been claimed prior to sale is still available during the auction. Feel free to ask questions, we want you to be comfortable in making your selections. If unable to purchase in the sale, be sure to check with us immediately after sale, we may still be able to fill your needs. Delivery arrangements are available. Please inquire. We retain 25% of any semen sales on the bulls posted, and the right to collect semen off the bulls for in herd use only. He is one the highest choice marbling bulls of the offering which is one of the very unique characteristics of our genetic line. 93% of this group of bulls had a choice marbling score. Once we got into the ET daughters Z200, Z202 and Z205 of 241 and Ambrose, we thought we better see if we could get a bull to surface and we did with 658. His full sisters are work horses and we see 658 the same way. 658 is the highest choice marbling bull of the offering with a rib eye. He has tremendous potential to add muscle, performance, and maternal strength to what ever kind of cow he is mated to. 658 has that friendly athletic design that goes with longevity. 54 Feedback from our Customers On January 20, 2016 we sold a load of fall born steers that were born October 1st through November 1st. They were 14 ½ to 15 ½ months old and weighing 1490lbs 1585lbs. These steers were ½ - ¾ Fleckvieh influenced. Knife cut at two weeks of age and never given an implant. We fed them a TMR ration of snaplage, high moisture corn, DDGS, hay and mineral. Jason & Adam Kreidermacher Altura, Minnesota Been using Brink Fleckvieh bulls since 2004 We run moderate framed angus cows. The Fleckvieh bulls from Brink Fleckvieh have proven to be a great cross. By only changing the bull in our program, our first calf crop averaged 87lbs more than the previous two years. Other than the growth, the major thing that caught my eye was the bottom end of the calves disappeared and seemed to be placed in the middle. The heifers we have kept have been very fertile and docile mothers with plenty of milk. I will continue to use Brink Fleckvieh bulls in our program. Since using Brink Fleckvieh bulls we ve added 60lbs 80lbs to our weaning weights, with no increased calving problems. The extra weight and accelerated performance has improved our profitability by selling more pounds per cow exposed to Brink Fleckvieh bulls.
