3 Shape poetry is when the poetry takes the shape of the subject of the poem. If the poem was about a flower the shape would be made into a flower. A Simple Tree and life began from a simple tree starting from roots they spread beneath the earth nourishing soil growing bigger its trunk widens strengthening it begins to stand on its own and the roots keep reaching far beyond the ground... 4 Endless Road Driving down a road that you never know will end. You keep going only to find out that it doesn t end yet. Your hopes are up thinking that it will finally end. Only to find out that it is only the beginning. Life is just like a winding road. You can never know when it end or if it is just the beginning You just have forward and on the past the better obstacles to keep down to keep moving and never look back You can only hope for Even if there are in your way you just have going and never slow Night Sky Up in the sky Giving you light In the dark night Even when it is light out I am in the sky waiting for night to come to shine again 4

5 Acrostic is where the first letter of each line spells a word, usually using the same words as in the title. 6 Spring Sunlight Pouring in after Rainfall In the day the rainbow comes out Never leaving till the sunsets Getting all the sunlight I can for the day Glitter Glitter everywhere in the room Laying on the tables In the middle of the room Tiny specks from spraying them all over Tiny specks from loose glitter Everybody for their bodies Room filled with all the glitter from the dancers Poem People like to write poetry Others do not like to write poetry Everybody is different in the poetry they like My favorite is shape poetry 6

7 Etheree consists of 10 lines and the lines go 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 syllables. There is also reverse poetry that goes 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 syllables. Your Wild Awakening Scent of woods; callouses on hands I stroke speak of hard-spent days. I trace a stubbled chin and hear my name unspoken in a warm unwavering gaze. Pressing kisses taste of surging need. I revel in your wild awakening. 8 Music I Hear songs Everywhere I go through the Day listening to The melody and beat I stop and listen every I can I love hearing all new Melodies and beats playing through me I love the music that goes all through me Life A Simple Life is nice To come by. You Wish your life could be Like that but you know that You will never have that life. You see other people with that Life but you look at your own life and Know that you love your life the way it is. Volleyball Volleyball is one of my favorite sports The way you have to work as a team Trying to keep the ball in the Court and trying to control The ball so it doesn t Fly all around the Court I work hard To keep the Ball in Court 8

9 The Brevette, created by Emily Romano consists of a subject (noun), verb, and object (noun), in this exact order. The verb should show an ongoing action. This is done by spacing out the letters in the verb. 10 The Sedoka is an unrhymed poem made up of two three-line katauta with the following syllable counts: 5/7/7, 5/7/7. A Sedoka, pair of katauta as a single poem, may address the same subject from differing perspectives. October 31st Ghosties and goblins Witches, black cats and broomsticks, All Hallows Eve comes tonight. Children coming by arms out calling trick or treat Hall-o-ween ghosts and goblins.
