Repository Boise State University Library, Special Collections and Archives Special Collections and Archives 1910 University Drive Boise ID Telephone: Languages English Historical Note The Idaho Historic Preservation Council (IHPC), also known as Preservation Idaho, was established in 1972 by a group of Idahoans concerned with the rate at which historic sites and resources in Idaho were being lost. These individuals created an organization to help the public unite to work towards the preservation of these resources. It is a non-profit organization located in Boise dedicated to "preserving Idaho's historic places through collaboration, education, and advocacy." Content Description The Preservation Idaho Records contain governing documents, publicity and marketing materials, articles about projects, as well as reports on preservation efforts across the state of Idaho. Other materials include nominations and award recipients for the annual Orchids and Onions Awards and research material for Arch Walks. The bulk of the material is from the 1990s and 2000s, although there is material related to the group's earliest projects. Accruals are expected.
