David Wolski Sound Design....Jaron Hubbard + under the supervision of Karen Eisenhour What is an Incorruptible? An Incorruptible is the Catholic Church's description of a holy person's body that has naturally resisted decay after burial. Common features include: moist skin, lifelike color, flexible, and containing a sweet smell. Other partial incorruptibles have been found throughout the centuries where certain parts of the body decay normally, while other parts such as the heart or tongue remain perfectly free of decomposition. While there may be many explanations for th phenomenon, it brings to light the wonder of nature and humanity's fascination with eternal preservation. Shelly Hanson Cast Charles... Tim Mason Martin... Brian McElligott Felix... Geoffrey Zokal Jack... Grant Molen Olf.... Dar'Keith Lofton Marie... Katy Kruzic* Peasant Woman... Mallory Stringfellow* Abess... Caitlin Carroll Produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc. 1 S Minute Intermission *Indicates membership in Alpha Psi Omega, Alpha Alpha Zeta Cast, Honorary Dramatic Society at Eastern Illinois University **Theatre Arts Scholarship Recipient Can it really have been ten years ago that John Oertling sat in my cramped and dark office in the old Doudna to interview for the Theatre chair's position? Here was this personable and charming Southern gentleman from Mars Hill College-that's right, Mars Hill (supply your own joke here) -who brought a wealth of experience to the task at hand: embrace the campus and community with your programming while providing your students with the best possible university theatre experience. For the past ten years he has excelled at both. In the theatre they say that timing is everything, and John's timing is pitch perfect. He entered just as we had begun the planning for the Doudna, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a Theatre chair, and fortunately for all of us at EIU, John's experience from professional, regional and university theatre was inestimable in every step of the process. You have merely to look around you to see the fruits of his expertise. And now he exits at the end of a wonderful season, which featured both The Tempest and the extraordinary production of Fiddler on the Roof and with his selection by the Illinois Theatre Association for its 2009 Annual Award of Excellence in the University/College division. I know I speak for all of us in the College of Arts & Humanities, at EIU and in the larger community when I say we thank you for all you have done to enrich our lives in the past decade. We stand and applaud you. Jeffrey Lynch, Dean College of Arts & Humanities
