OPENING SESSIONS The South American premiere of FIRE AT SEA (Fuocoammare), by Gianfranco Rosi, and the world premiere of THE AMAZING ARTRICKS OF THE GYPSY CLOUD (As Incríveis Artimanhas da Nuvem Cigana), by Paola Vieira and Claudio Lobato will be screened at the opening sessions of It s All True st International Documentary Film Festival respectively in São Paulo (04/07) and Rio de Janeiro (04/08). This year s festival could not have more captivating openings, for very different styles and reasons, said Amir Labaki. FIRE AT SEA portraits with amazing delicacy and a remarkable narrative talent the humanitarian refugee crisis in Europe. It is a great honor to premiere it at the opening in São Paulo and we are deeply thankful to Gianfranco Rosi and Jean-Thomas Bernardini from Imovision for this privilege. I had no doubts about acquiring the Brazilian rights for the film FIRE AT SEA; Gianfranco Rosi can be considered one of the best documentarists of the century, says Jean Thomas Bernardini. It won Venice and the Golden Bear in Berlin. The 3
4 film is unmissable and meets the expectations of an opening of the prestigious It s All True. THE AMAZING ARTRICKS OF THE GYPSY CLOUD on the other hand is a party, continues Labaki. Paola Vieira and Claudio Lobato made an amusing and lovely collage film in straight harmony with the spirit of that collective that left its mark on the marginal poetry of the 1970s.
