Bar 33 Both parts need to be ready to come in confidently on the 2 nd beat on their high notes altos are tucked in just under the high D for the sops. Bar 37 (altos) make sure When you feel is on beat 3 and 4. as for bar 13. Bar 67 (altos) boom, chak-a, chak-a really energetic speaking but start mp with gradual crescendo to f Bar 74 (soprano) 6 X eep eep eep eep energise and don t fade away after doing a couple. Bar 74 (altos) really be ready to change to sing the boom, chak-a, chak-a, boom, chaka lak and then at bar 80, be prepared to change to boom, chaka, wa-oo Verse 2 - bar 91 (soprano) really use your diction to enunciate the words Check out those chat, chat chattering monkeys. Bar 99 words need to be very clear Sounds like a wolf pack Bar (soprano) sing right to the end of the sustained note.don t sing up high with altos!!! Bar 119 (alto) use the accent on the words feel, which will help drive the beat and assist with the crescendo through to bar 123. Bar 124 (altos) don t sing on the first beat of the bar omit the word rhythm Bar 124 (sopranos) - sing right through all of the sustained notes until bar 137. Bar 139 (altos) be ready to sing straight on after boom Sing a HUGE RRRRRH at the end and practice adding in the Tiger Claws with hands either side of head. (a new choreography move!!) Advance Australia Fair Lovely big, long, legato phrases check breathing and really make sure no-one breathes half way through a phrase. Banana Really secure starting notes soprano starting note is the last note for the soloist, and the alto starting note is a third below the starting note for the soloist. Practice the last 2 bars of the solo, which leads into the soprano and alto starting notes just sing those starting notes and hold. Keep doing this until the parts are secure.

2 Make sure clupping in verse 1 with the soloist doesn t race through bar B5-8. Don t breathe during the ney e ey (bars 14 and 15 and other similar bars. try to stagger your breathing. Bar 43 49, bar 51 57, etc. Bar 99/100 note the different rhythm compared to bar 35/36 and 67/68. Check last notes in each verse ie. Soloist in verse 1 the last note goes up, verse 2, 3 and 4 goes down. In general make sure the rhythm of the words MATCH the CD!! Especially B69, B53, B91/92, B104, B108. It s Bonfire Season Bar 9 (altos) each phrase increases in intensity, try accenting the word sticks on first beat of pattern Bar 17 (both parts) p keep this quiet so there is room to grow. Bar 57 (altos) dynamics really start quietly softly speaking rather than a sinister whisper!! and use the crescendo to build up to f. Bar 65 (soprano) - make sure the entry is really tight and volume is soft and building again Bar 77 (altos) Light the match, let it catch a... Make sure the word it doesn t get lost it requires lots of energy to sing this section. Bar 122 (soprano) - sustained notes leading into the ending. Be exact on the last spoken part System 41, and finish together! All eyes on the conductor! Que Sera No fall offs in verse 1 at oh, so and through these words are at the end of the bar, and a couple of them have an accent mark on top. We don t want those words to stand out. Start to add the signing in the pre-chorus with strong confident moves remind students that this section is done as an echo not in unison. Bar 57- BUT I know that we re gonna be alright. Different words and rhythm compared to bars 53/54. **** Please work on this and INSIST THE KIDS SING THEM CORRECTLY! Singing la, la, la etc. keep a light head voice so that it doesn t get too heavy and gruff this wil cause the students to sing out of tune. A Healthy Home Bar 22 choir entry on the 3 rd beat make sure it s on the beat, so prepare.

3 E-Mission Control Bar 10 (choir) use consonants to accentuate the words. Bar 18. Sops and Altos go into different parts.. Altos same note on the 1st and 4 th beat, sopranos, 4 th beat is a 3 rd high than beat 1. AGAIN at bar 46 Verse 2 B38 confident entry Thee and learn all verse 2 words!! Rock section at bar 67 check words through this section. mission, decision, emissions. missin, vision, ambition, pollution and solution. Add clicks and claps to this section 4 single claps n clicks, then double clap and double click. At bar 110 the 2 chorus are together check the endings for the section that each group are singing on many occasions, they end up singing the same thing. Chorus 1 has high ending, Chorus 2 low ending! Bar 134/135 remind the students that altos sing higher than the sopranos on this occasion. B140 sops need energy for the high E strong tummies and eyebrows up! The Well Bar 32 make put the k in before me. Bar 56 well don t hold onto this. Bar 66 (both parts) check entry notes. B91 sops don t sing down to the A, (as per B86) stop on the C. Bar 107 p Bar 118 use the crescendo to build up through this section. Bar 130 we re don t forget to add this in. The Bee Bop Groove!! B8 re-spon- si-bi-li-ty the i as in hit Heaps of consonants explode the t s, b s, p s this is a song full of facts so clear words are essential!! Bar 36 don t hold onto the F only 2 beats Verse 2 Bar 37 learn the words! Pronounce dance as darnce. B111 Bop is an F note, not a G, the kids have to sing interval of a 3 rd. Bar 125 be sure that the 4 th beat is a G leading into the A of bar 126, and is a full beat The Dance Bar 30 really use the consonants and dynamics through this section. Bar 31 (sopranos) hold onto the last note for 3 beats and again at bar 33. Bar 33, & 41 (altos) don t take a breath before bar 34 &B 42 make sure they know they need to sing straight on. Swirling, Turning, Whirling emphasise consonants alphabetical order! Bar 57 (altos) po-wer - note C then D different to bar 47 note C then E. Also remember subito p practice this with students they might not know how to do it.

4 Bar 82/83/84/85 (soprano) different leading into the ending - remember to observe all the rests throughout this section. Bar 104 t on the end of silent. Bar 106 hill hold for the full 2 beats. B109 f at the end of life Bar 108 observe rests. A Healthy Home Bar 26 in unison no echo Sopranos B8-10- first 2 patterns melody goes down to home but the 3 rd in S10 goes up to an A on home How Can I Keep From Singing? Consonant, f of the first word life, a clear break, then sing flows End less song Bars 4 and 5 sing in 1 breath Bars 10, 11 and 12 all in 1 breath Bar 12 ing = a crotchet (the CD holds it for 3 beats) crisp cut off on beat 2. Bar 27 (choir) ooo comes in on the 4 th beat of the bar Bar 33 secure starting notes in soprano and altos, use Ah in B31/32, altos sing F, G, F Bar 33 and 34 (altos) keep light head voice throughout this section. From letter D to letter E secure part work in this section particularly the altos, who have 2 different versions of the words how can I keep from singing a low one at B35/36, and the melody B Bar 47 soprano and alto parts have a different ending. Bar 50 (choir) hold your note for 3 counts. Bar 70 (choir) keep make sure students are watching the conductor for the cut off add p on the end of keep. Towards Infinity Bar 25 - practice these parts separately (lots and lots!!!!) Until they are secure, and then put them together, but do it slowly perhaps stopping on the notes which create the dissonance so the students can hear it. Try mute the sops while the altos sing out loud, and vice-versa. Or ask the altos to turn sing to the outside wall so the sops have more chance to hear their part. Bar (solo and altos) Horizons are never too far (small breath), oceans never too wide. Make sure the children are not singing roceans. This pattern occurs several times throughout the piece ie. Bar Bar 40 crescendo and rallantando. Bar 41 (sopranos) pp Bar (altos) secure their part here. Bar 63 Towards. Use the T consonant Hold on to the last note and fade away.

5 Jai Ho High energy piece!!! And please insist altos sing the lower part don t all be sops!! Bar 17 (unison) begin this section quietly and then begin the crescendo at Bar 19. Repeat this each time it happens. Bar (both parts) hold the sustained notes - don t cut it short or run out of breath. Be confident with the 4 words Shar-be-gam, Ghah-me-de, Ha-le-de, Re-gu-di. B24 strong entry on J of Jai after the Ha with the action this entry is often poor. Practice doing the last Ha with the action and straight into the Jai. Similar at B72/73.
