4 SEASON OPENING SPECTACULAR Haydn s Creation The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance Titans Season opens with Haydn s awe-inspiring masterpiece, The Creation, as never before seen. The power of the combined forces of Dayton s Ballet, Philharmonic, and Opera will give this massive oratorio the performance it so richly deserves. BALLET OPERA PHILHARMONIC The Dayton Ballet explores new horizons in dance with a striking interpretation of Haydn s Creation. The season includes the repertory program Phantom Dances in October and The Nutcracker for the holidays. The acclaimed Carmen and Butterfly Suite return to the Victoria stage in February, and April brings a varied collection of bold works together for the program Innovations. Fully staged productions of Puccini s beloved La bohème and Rossini s rollicking Cinderella take over Schuster s Mead Theatre in November and February. This season s Star Recital brings us a Metropolitan Opera star and protégé of Plácido Domingo, soprano Angel Blue. We finish the season with a glorious tribute to the Baroque composers who started opera as we know it today. Masterworks the DPO s flagship series brings dynamic soloists and major classical compositions to the fore. Glorious works for piano, violin, cello, and oboe are performed by artists both long established and on the ascent. Symphonies that have shaken the world will also shake the Mead Theatre stage. The Recital Series includes two chamber concerts at the Dayton Art Institute, the Opera vocalist recital, and a Wildcard! This season, the Family Series includes the family favorite PhilharMonster, plus matinee performances of both The Nutcracker and Cinderella, and a journey through the Musical World of Harry Potter.
