It began early this year at the beginning of September. Audiences, clubs, businesses are looking for an opportunity to mix music, and a party atmosphere with a social event. Make a list of twenty Octoberfest songs and go find a place to share your great music. Thank you friends, guests and accordionists all over America. You have supported ALSI events in San Diego for twenty plus years. The Heritage Day Festival has continued to be popular for accordionists to participate in each year. The music was wonderful. Your practice has paid off. One can hear the improvements in musicality. Listen to the rhythm and expression. Bellowing, as Art Van Damme would say, is the key to musical excellence. A perfect melody without a great rhythm is just another song. This October 13th all accordionists may take a turn in making the ALSI Octoberfest Celebration of Music in Balboa Park, San Diego a great fun day with enjoyment for all. Make a costume or buy one. Share in the spirit of past era harvest time festivals. Pick out some popular songs to play and tickle those keys and develop a great arrangement or two. One of the most beautiful surroundings to play in San Diego is Balboa NEWSLETTER October 2013 Park. If I may be of help please call me. A special shirt, vest, or hat will help excite an audience for the music and cheer! Duets, trios, and quartets are ways for players to do harmony and rhythm parts to style your songs. Here are some Octoberfest music that are favorite songs on my list: Under the Double Eagle March, The Julida Polka, Liechtensteiner Polka, Happy Wanderer, Blue Skirt Waltz, The Blue Danube, Danke Schoen, Auf Wiederschen, Edelweiss, Wooden Heart, Beer Barrel Polka and Small World. Ein Prosit and Cheers and Good times! Best Wishes and Der Gemutilech Keit! Gordon Music Mystery Word: tutti: (Answer found elsewhere)

2 Page 2 ALSI MEMBERSHIP AND GENERAL INFORMATION MEMBERSHIPS: current member renewal for twelve month term; the fee is $100 Gold, $25 U.S.A., $26 Canada, $27 for International delivery. Use this calculation as follows: Subtract $2 for each month that has elapsed for the calendar year.
