1 Anne Wieben Young soprano Anne Wieben is rapidly gaining recognition for her captivating, authentic performances. Having started her career as a mezzo-soprano, she brings burnished warmth and a soaring top register to the lyric soprano repertoire. In 2017 Ms. Wieben was seen on stage in the roles of Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte with Teatro Barocco and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with Opera Rund Um at the Wir sind Wien Festival. She performs regularly with Vienna s premier interactive theater ensemble, Nesterval, and is currently starring in Dirty Faust. In recent seasons Anne Wieben has performed Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with Kammeroper Weissenhorner and Pasinger Fabrik, Sandmännchen and Taumännchen in Hänsel und Gretel at the Einstein Cultural Center (Munich), and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi at Pfarrkirchen Theater. Championing many contemporary works, she has been seen as the Femme Fatale in the World Premiere of Clio Montrey s Photo Socrates at Nikki Bogart Gallery (Vienna), the lead role of Diana in Anton Urpsruch s Das Unmöglichste von Allem at Leverkusen Forum and Dolce Theater in Bad Nauheim (recorded and released by Marco Polo Records), Dot Robinson in the Austrian premiere of Raymond Yiu s chamber opera The Original Chinese Conjuror at the Vienna Musikverein, Dorinda in Michael Hayden s Die Hochzeit auf der Alm at Teatro Barocco Fesitival in Stift Altenburg, and Avril in Michael Nyman s minimalistic opera Love Counts at Metro Kino Theater (Vienna). She also created and starred in a German language cabaret titled Sopranos at Theater Heppel and Ettlich (Munich). On the concert stage Ms. Wieben has performed many of the Mozartean heroines: Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, as well as Musetta in La Bohème, Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos, and Agathe in Der Freischütz. In 2010 she was invited to St. Mary s Cathedral in Foxford, Ireland where she was the soprano soloist in performances of Mozart s Mass in C minor and Mendelssohn s Elijah. She has also been the soloist in Faure s Requiem and Saint-Saens Christmas Oratorio in Minneapolis. Taking on contemporary art song in Vienna, she recently sang Otto M. Zykan s 5 Lieder and 5 Haikus at Museum Währing and Clio Montrey s 5 Mannequin Songs at OFF Theater. Anne Wieben holds a Masters degree in Opera Performance from the Vienna Konservatorium and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Vocal Performance, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota.

It is not surprising that she not only has sung the [mezzo] roles of Nicklausse and the Composer but also the soprano roles of Fiordiligi, Contessa and Rosalinde.
