1 STATE SOLO & ENSEMBLE INFORMATION - VOCAL & PIANO EVENTS PERRY MERIDIAN HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL All times are E.S.T. (Indianapolis time) All Vocal Events will be held at Perry Meridian High School, 401 W. Meridian School Road. All Piano Events will be held at Perry Meridian Middle School, 202 W. Meridian School Road, on the north side of the street. MAPS & SCHEDULES: Directors: Give your students a copy of the building map along with the schedule! NOTE: Vocal Warm-up rooms and Performance rooms will be located on both the First and Second floors. A Teacher Workroom will be available to directors at PMHS in room 11M (located across from the cafeteria). PARKING: Parking for this event is very limited. Please make arrangements to carpool or travel in vans and mini buses to limit the number of vehicles at the site. Parking at Perry Meridian H.S. is available on the East side of the building, and parking at Perry Meridian M.S. on the South side of the building. PLEASE, NO PARKING ALONG THE STREET! Park only in areas designated for parking. No parking on grass or where prohibited. No parking in fire lanes. Illegally parked vehicles will be towed at the owner s expense. BUSES: Students may be dropped off on the East Side of Perry Meridian High School and enter through the Main Entrance (#1). After drop-off, buses will be directed to park on the North and West side of Perry Meridian H.S. SCHEDULE CONFLICTS: No performance time changes can be made in advance to the published schedule. Minor schedule conflicts can usually be resolved at the performance room on the day of the event. In case of a conflict, participants should check with the doorkeeper at their scheduled room, as early as possible upon arrival. Directors should also notify doorkeepers of any events from their school that will not be attending. Although every attempt will be made to accommodate conflicts, there is no guarantee every conflict can be resolved. MEDALS: All performers receiving a Gold, Silver, Bronze, Participation, or Comment Only rating should take their comment sheet to one of the award distribution tables located throughout the building. Awards and ribbons will be distributed at these locations. DO NOT COME TO EVENT HEADQUARTERS FOR AWARDS! Reminder: A With Distinction designation at State Solo and Ensemble will be awarded to vocal solos and ensembles receiving a 10.5 or less and piano solos receiving an 8.5 or less. Events qualifying for this award will receive a Gold medal with special gold piping on the ribbon. ACCOMPANIST MEDALS; PATCHES AND YEAR ROCKERS: Accompanist Medals, State Solo & Ensemble Patches, and Rockers will be available in the Cafeteria. Costs are $3.00 for Accompanist Medals, $2.00 for Patches and $1.00 for year 2019 Rockers. PIANO SOLO WARM-UP (Perry Meridian Middle School): Piano solo warm-up will be in the designated area (C4) using electronic keyboards with headphones. Participants will be allowed 15 minutes warm-up, 30 minutes prior to their scheduled performance time. FOOD SERVICE: Food and drink will be available in the Cafeteria beginning at 8:00 A.M. at Perry Meridian High School. Drinks and light refreshments will be available at Perry Meridian Middle School. PROGRAMS: A printed program will NOT be available at the site. If you desire a printed schedule, please print out the schedule available on this website as needed. T-SHIRTS: Specially designed ISSMA long-sleeve T-shirts for State Solo & Ensemble are available for purchase in the Cafeteria. Cost is $20.00 for S, M, L, XL, and XXL. COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY BOOTHS: A feature at this year's State Solo & Ensemble Festivals will be the presence of representatives of many Indiana College and University Schools of Music. These information booths will be located in the Commons and Cafeteria areas.
2 LOST AND FOUND: Please turn in any items that appear to be lost to the Event Headquarters. They may be reclaimed there. EVENT HEADQUARTERS: The Event Headquarters at PMHS is located in the Guidance Office, and at PMMS in the Cafeteria. Emergency calls may be directed to 317/ ISSMA appreciates the use of Perry Meridian Schools for this event. We expect due respect for classrooms, restrooms and hallways. THIS IS A NON-SMOKING CAMPUS (INSIDE AND OUTSIDE)... NO TOBACCO PRODUCTS MAY BE USED WHILE ON SCHOOL GROUNDS. PLEASE CONSUME ALL FOOD AND DRINK IN THE CAFETERIA ONLY.
