2 COMPLETE TRAINING Our full time summer course is an intensive opportunity to act, sing and dance for three weeks of your summer. Students work with fully qualified and experienced teachers on rehearsal and performance techniques, leading to performances for family and friends. Each day runs from 9.00am-6.00pm (Plus later on Performance days) Mon 29th July - Sat 3rd August Mon 5th - Sat 10th August Monday 29th July - Sunday 18th August ACTING PERFORMANCE THIS INTENSIVE SUMMER Explore text, character and relationships through COURSE IS OPEN TO YOUNG workshops, concentrating on a contemporary play. PERFORMING ARTS MUSICAL THEATRE PERFORMANCE An intensive training opportunity, studying all aspects Two Full Scale Performances of Musical Theatre throughout each day. Analysing text and lyrics, exploring movement and gesture through the discovery of subtext. At the end of the final week, all students perform a full verison of the TOM KITT and LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA musical BRING IT ON, at the Arts Depot Theatre in North Finchley. FREE THEATRE TRIPS From Monday 29th July - Sunday 18th Also includes two free theatre trips to the West End. 4 Sophocles During the process for the first production of our course we explore the classic text of Sophocles Antigone. This intricate training prepares us for both the performance of Antigone and an understanding of how precise we can be with our Musical Theatre analysis throughout our Bring It On process. This production enables us to grow as a company and undertake the challenges ahead in producing two complete performances in only three weeks. Antigone is a tragedy set in a city ravaged by civil war in 441 BC. The central character, Antigone, is condemned to be buried alive by the leader, Throughout the entire process, students will be stretched in all disciplines of Creon, when she attempts to bury the body of her rebellious brother. The the performing arts, working with dance, acting and singing tutors for over play offers incredible opportunities for leading actors to train intensively and forty hours per week. All this work culminates in the production of a full scale demonstrate their progression in performance. Spring Awakening Rehearsals - Summer 2017 musical at the Arts Depot Theatre in Finchley. Following the success of last year s performance of In The Heights, we have opted for another musical that offers opportunity to challenge our participants in all areas of their training; Bring It On. Bitingly relevant, sprinkled with sass, and inspired by the hit film, Bring It On The Musical takes audiences on a high-flying journey filled with the complexities of friendship, jealousy, betrayal, and forgiveness. Uniting some of the freshest and funniest creative minds on Broadway, Bring It On features an original story by Tony Award winner Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), music and lyrics by Tony Awardwinning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda (In The Heights, Hamilton), music by Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning composer Tom Kitt (Next To Normal), lyrics by Broadway lyricist Amanda Green (High Fidelity) and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Musical. In the Hieghts - Summer 2018 AUDITIONS NOW OPEN Students interested in taking part on our fully funded three week summer course will need to audition. While we are searching for talented young people, the main criteria we look for are enthusiam, hard work and commitment. Our audition workshops are designed to offer you the chance to demonstrate that you have those attributes. We are not only looking for musical theatre performers, but also actors that wish to improve on their vocal skills. You will need to prepare a verse and a chorus of a musical theatre song and a short monologue to perform in front of our panel. You will receive feedback and advice on the day in addition to attending an afternoon of classes at the college. Contact us now to arrange your audition and workshop session.
