2 Introduction This guide contains information on bus, tram, train and tram train services operating over the festive period. Christmas & New Year Services Up to and including Sunday 23 December 2018 It s great news again! On Boxing Day special bus services funded by Buses for Sheffield and on New Year s Day special bus services funded by Sheffield City Council will run in Sheffield. Bus, Tram, Train & Tram Train - Normal services. These services will be operated by First, Stagecoach and TM Travel on Boxing Day and by First on New Year s Day, and will be low floor, easy access buses. Normal fares, concessions and any relevant restrictions apply on both days. Please note that if a bus route normally operated by Stagecoach is run by First, a Citywide ticket is needed to also use the Supertram. First tickets will be valid on Stagecoach service 50 on Boxing Day, and Stagecoach tickets will be valid on First SL1 on New Year s Day. Train and Tram Train services will not operate on Boxing Day but will operate on New Year s Day. Supertram Special Blue and Yellow routes will operate on both days. Normal fares will apply in both cases. Travel passes, TravelMasters and season tickets will also be accepted. Normal child fares will apply. Traveline and disruptions information Please note the Traveline service will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year s Day. During this period no live updates will be issued through Twitter or the disruptions page on the Travel South Yorkshire website. Park & Ride, Ticketing & TravelMaster Park & Ride during Christmas and New Year Please be aware that during the Christmas and New Year period there will be changes to park and ride facilities. Take advantage of FREE PARKING at Park & Ride sites in Sheffield on Boxing Day and New Year s Day - just pay for the cost of travel on the tram. Ticketing Concessionary Travel The 0930 travel restriction will be removed for senior concessionary pass holders between Wednesday 26 December 2018 until Tuesday 1 January 2019 inclusive. Customers may use their pass during this period to obtain free travel on bus, tram and tram train services, and half fare travel on Northern services within South Yorkshire, from the beginning to the end of service. TravelMaster TravelMaster cannot be refunded or extended for days when there are few or no public transport services. Please ensure you check your public transport service is operating before purchasing your product.
