SOMETHING SPECIAL: Jasmine performed on drums at her end of year concert this year and was so well liked by students and teachers that she was asked to do an Encore!
4 Michelle van den Berg Performs: Birdy Boy AGE: 13 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Multi Talented. A fast learner. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Michelle began her music journey on keys, she is now studying drums and violin. She has a unique taste in music and we hope you enjoy her folk medley.
5 Mathew Fargher Performs: Harder. Better, Faster, Stronger By Daft Punk AGE: 10 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Listens well, practices well, is always polite. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Mathew has been playing drums in bands since He is currently the drummer for the Wollongong Public School Band.
6 Anshuman Raut AGE: 11 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Anshu is polite, respectful, dedicated and practices hard. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Anshu is part of the Beat Lab Performance Ensemble. They performed at Thirroul Seaside Festival and at Spring into Corrimal Earlier this year. Zhan Begic :Gangnam Style AGE: 11 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Understanding of music notation and theory. SOMETHING SPECIAL: This is Zhan s first performance. He is doing well keeping up with a purple band student playing the world s most famous song. It has had over 800 million views on you tube.
7 Alex Organ Caldwell Performs Electro Afro Drum solo for electronic drum set AGE: 12 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Is creative in making up his own beats and rhythms. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Alex performed a drum solo earlier this year for the Wollongong High School program. He was highly commended on his skills, unfortunately he hadn t been playing for quite as long as some of the other drummers trying out. His drumming has come along way since then and he is ready to show you his new skills.
8 Jessie Sheridan Performs: Pink Medley AGE: 11 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Jessie is a fast learner and loves a challenge. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Jessie is very multi musically talented. She is also a singer and a pianist. Her grandfather was also a very talented musician being in a band who performed for the Queen in 1974.
9 Kalani McConville Performs: Are you Gonna Go my Way By Lenny Kravitz AGE: 8 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Has a great ear for timing. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Kalani has loved drumming since she was 3. She is surrounded by friends and family who love music. Tonight is her first time ever performing on drums. This is a challenging song for her level. Go Kalani!
10 Jonah Fez Vanderschoor Performs: A surf Medley AGE: 12 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Jonah has a good ear for drumming/ timing. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Jonah has worked very hard on his performance piece. You will enjoy his drum solo.
11 Josh Thompson :Eye of The Tiger AGE: 10 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Josh has a good ear for drumming and timing. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Josh and Ethan are also friends at school and so it is special for them to be doing their first performance together. Ethan Morgan monk AGE: 10 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Practices well and asks questions. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Ethan makes sure to squeeze the most learning out of every half an hour lesson. He asks many questions and is super keen to learn as much as he can about drumming. Daniel Oliverio AGE: 7 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: has a good ear for timing. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Daniel loves playing drums on guitar hero and this has really helped with his drumming skills. He is doing great keeping up with these two Blue Band Drummers.
12 Chloe Tindall Performs: Bullet with Butterfly Wings By The Smashing Pumpkins AGE: 14 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Chloe has an individual taste for music. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Chloe sees a lot of bands perform live and tonight is her first time on stage. You may see Chloe playing the double kick pedal next year!
13 Thomas Lynch Performs: A Guns n Roses Medley AGE: 10 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Tom is a fast learner, is dedicated and has a good ear. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Tom is a part of the Beat Lab Ensemble Group. He has performed with them at the Thirroul Seaside Festival and Spring Into Corrimal earlier this year. He now shows you some of his very rockin solo skills.
14 Madison Cleal Performs: All of Me AGE: 13 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Dedicated and Creative. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Madi is delighting us with a Jazz tune today. She only began learning jazz last term and can already play it with style. The group consists of Madi s mum and sister. What a band!
15 Jaidyn Scifleet Performs: Eminem Medley AGE: 7 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Jaidyn does regular practice. He is focused in class and has an individual taste in music. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Jaidyn gave his whole school class a drum lesson for a presentation early this year. He got a merit award for doing such a great job Unfortunately no one in his class could play the beat!
16 Sarah Mammone Performs: A Funk- Pop Medley By Fun/ and Maroon 5 AGE: 13 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Sarah is dedicated to her practice. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Sarah is the drummer for the Cedars school band. She just completed a tour around some local schools late this year.
17 Liam Pereira Performs: What is Boom Boom AGE: 10 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Performance. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Liam has performed at 3 talent quests at his school in 2010,2011 and His school loved him so much last year that he had to sign a number of autographs after the show!
18 Thomas Waddingham AGE: 11 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Great technique SOMETHING SPECIAL: Thomas has composed his own drum song called cool fish. We may be lucky enough to see one of his own drum solos performed next year!
19 Luke Sleiman AGE: 10 Years :Joker and The Thief by WOLFMOTHER UNIQUE STRENGTH: Luke has a great ear for drumming. He quite often picks things up from his older sister s playing. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Luke and Tex do a partner lesson together at The Beat Lab. They work well together and help each other when needed. Tex White AGE: 10 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Tex has mastered his multiple bounce drum roll. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Luke and Tex do a partner lesson together at The Beat Lab. 20 Rhys Jordan AGE: 10 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Thoughtful, considered approach to learning. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Rhys also learns keyboard with James in addition to guitar. He has performed on both instruments in several school events this year. Liam Jordan House of the Rising Sun AGE: 12 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Creativity and confidence in song writing. SOMETHING SPECIAL: In 2010 Liam won a NSW song writing competition for primary school aged children. Since then he has been actively performing and has also made it into Wollongong High for guitar.

22 Ethan Organ Caldwell Performs teenage Dirtbag AGE: 15 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Ethan never gives up on any challenge, he will play it until he has got it! SOMETHING SPECIAL: Ethan performed this song with a live band at a school concert last week and the crowd loved it.
23 Sydney Rutty Performs: A rock drum Solo AGE: 13 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Dedication and Notation. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Sydney has been playing in school bands from a young age. She has explored a diverse range of styles but has a passion for rock. She will demonstrate some of her rock moves today.
24 Holly Dominique Madeline Croft Performs: Clint Eastwood by the gorillaz AGE: 10 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Has perfected her technique and multiple bounce strokes. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Holly has even inspired her mum to start learning the drums too! Holly will be receiving her RED BAND later this term.
25 Sarah Wharton Performs Get Out By JoJo AGE: 11 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Has a good ear for timing and drumming. She is dedicated to her music. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Sarah is also a singer in her band at school. She has a great ear for music and sometimes works out rhythms from songs on her own.
26 Owen Anacleto Performs: his own Drum Solo AGE: 8 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Creativity and Improvisation. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Owen performed this solo at his school this week. He rocked the roof off and all his class mates wanted his autograph! Owen should be getting his blue band before Christmas!
27 Marius Polhill AGE: 13 Years - check UNIQUE STRENGTH: Is dedicated. Practices and listens well. Pays great attention to detail. SOMETHING SPECIAL: This is Marius first time performing on drums and playing in a band. :The Joker Samuel Rogers AGE: UNIQUE STRENGTH: A focused, fast learner. SOMETHING SPECIAL: This is Samuel s first time performing on guitar and playing in a band.
28 Ashley Johnson Sunshine Of AGE: 12 Years Your Love UNIQUE STRENGTH: Is dedicated to learning and practice. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Ashley performed this song live with Liam earlier this year at Spring Into Corrimal. It was a real hit with the crowd. Check it out on you tube! 29 Aiden Nakamura Bell Performs Gorillaz Medley AGE: 8 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Fast Learner, a good ear. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Aiden is very talented for someone so young, as you will see. He performed a complex drum solo at his school talent quest last year and he was a drummer for the combined schools Choral Festival earlier this year too. He is also a part of The Beat Lab Performance Ensemble.
30 Isabella Berryman Performs Ozzy/ Hex Girls Medley AGE: 5 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: A great ear for music and a diverse musical taste. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Isabella was determined to perform on her own. This is a big thing for someone so young.
31 :7 Nation Army Thomas Jones AGE: 7 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Thomas is particular with detail and understands music notation well. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Tom has a love for the electronic drum kit. Seamus Farrelly AGE: 6 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Seamus has a good ear for drumming. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Seamus even inspired his mum to start learning too! Presley Nounev AGE: 9 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Is a fast learner. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Presley only began drumming 4 weeks ago and he is already finding this song too easy! Frasier Rodgers AGE: 10 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Frasier has great timing. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Frasier only learnt this song on Tuesday!! Hugo Hunt AGE: 11 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Consistent effort and practice. SOMETHING SPECIAL: As well as beginning guitar, Hugo was also awarded Preliminary Grade in Piano this year.
32 Ashton Low Performs A Percussion/ and Drum Solo AGE: 11 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Passionate, Creative and a Fast Learner. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Ashton has progressed at a fast rate. He is in the Beat Lab Ensemble and has performed at Thirr. Seaside Fest. And Spring into Corrimal this year. He will also be performing at his school talent quest. He has taken up a love for percussion along with his drumming and will be a well known local busker in not too long!
33 AGE: 17 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: A great ear for music, dedicated practice, a great teacher. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Caitlin teaches some students on a Saturday at The Beat Lab. She is well liked by her students. She will be performing this piece at a drum examination next year.
34 Evie Dale AGE: 4 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Has a good ear for music. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Evie loves rock n roll and can hear the bass drum in the music! She is a born rock star. :TNT Isaac Jones AGE: 5 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Isaac pays great attention to detail. He understands written music well. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Isaac did an introductory music course when he was 4 and it was here that he discovered his love and talent for drumming.
35 Noah Walker AGE: 7 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Noah is an excellent listener. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Noah loves the electronic drum kit and hopefully he ll be getting one soon ;) H2H Jake Grubb AGE: 8 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Great ear for timing. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Jake got an acoustic drum kit last school holidays. Since then he has been rocking his suburb with this song! We better start on a new one after tonight ;)
36 AGES: 8-12 Years Who Are They? A collaboration of 4 chosen drummers who were selected at the beginning of the year to form a performance drum ensemble. SOMETHING SPECIAL: The boys made it through the heats to the grand finals in a band competition at the Thirroul Seaside Festival in April this year. Sally plans to form more ensembles, she is keeping an eye out for her most committed students.
37 Jessie Rose Sleiman Performs: Come together to see the sun burn gold on the ceiling AGE: 11 Years UNIQUE STRENGTH: Jessie is very creative on the drum kit and can use both hands competently. SOMETHING SPECIAL: Jessie made it into Wollongong High Performing Arts School for her drumming this year.
