3 October MONDAY, OCTOBER 8 TH Four Continents of Critters presented by wildlife photographer Ken Conger Wildlife photographer Ken Conger will present a buffet of spectacular photos captured during his 2017 adventures to Ecuador, Kenya, Rwanda, India and Alaska as well as some western U.S. national parks. In 2017, Ken concentrated on capturing some unique images and one special species on his Bucket List. Ken compliments his photos with stories, animal facts, audio and short videos. The program provides a view of a wildlife photographer s world and the challenges taken to capture stunning wildlife images. MONDAY, OCTOBER 1 ST An Evening of Jazz presented by Maroon Corey Influenced by music legends such as Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and Dizzie Gillespie, Maroon Corey is quickly becoming a legend in his own right. A talented vocalist and soulful trumpet player, Maroon captures the music s emotion and serves up a tasty collection of tunes. Evening programs are held from 7:00 8:00 P.M. MONDAY, OCTOBER 15 TH An Evening of Americana Music presented by Out on a Limb Out On A Limb is an acoustic trio of musicians who focus on strong vocals and intricate instrumental work. With a multiple crossover appeal between bluegrass, folk, country and classic rock, their renditions of known covers keeps the audience in familiar music territory but cleverly adds their original twists in instrument and vocal arrangement changes. This program was made possible, in part, thanks to the sponsorship of Covenant Woods Raymond T. Holmes, Jr. Community Services Fund, which seeks to serve seniors in the greater Hanover community. 4 MONDAY, OCTOBER 22 ND Cambodia A Travelogue presented by Bruce and Gwen Spooner Join Gwen and Bruce Spooner for an evening of incredible tales from their time spent traveling in the South East Asian country of Cambodia. OCTOBER 29TH The Storyteller presented by Dylan Prichett Dylan Pritchett is a storyteller by profession, taking his African and African-American folk tales to over one hundred schools annually throughout the country since Dylan has had a twelve-year, professional association with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, where he has led popular workshops for teachers. He is sought after for presentations and school residencies. As a result, he empowers students to take pride in their family stories and tell them. Don t miss this extraordinary evening of imagination, music, and memories! Dylan s story CDs will be offered for sale after the program for $10/ each, cash only. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 30TH An Encore with Todd Donovan, collaborating with Michael Simpson Todd has performed both Opera and Musical Theater throughout the United States and is known for his powerful and resonant voice and expressive acting. Michael Simpson will also return for the evening s performance on the piano. Michael is a renowned musician in the Richmond music scene, currently serving as the Assistant Conductor for the Richmond Symphony Chorus. 5 November MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH Richmond Clarinet Choir The Richmond Clarinet Choir performs all styles of music ranging from modern, classical and jazz, to more familiar melodies. The choir provides a unique sound not heard in other ensemble groups. The Choir is made up of professional and semi-professional musicians and is the only group of this type currently performing in the Richmond area. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH Rocking the 60s presented by No Anchor John Edwards, lead electric guitarist, and David DeBiasi, acoustic guitar and vocals, met at Leon s Country Gospel Community Sing in Miller s Tavern, a small town outside Tappahannock. John was the band leader and mentored David for seven years. With a full band, they covered music from the 60 s from Ben E. King to Roy Orbison and Elvis to The Drifters culminating with performances in Richmond and Charlottesville in They have gotten back together as a duo for this performance at Covenant Woods. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 19TH Healthy Food to Support Healthy Lives presented by Shalom Farms At Shalom Farms, we believe everyone should have good food; food that is good for our bodies, good for the environment, and good for our communities. However, thousands in Richmond lack access to healthy food. Many people also lack the tools and resources to cook it, eat it, and share it. Through sustainable agriculture and hands-on experiences, Shalom Farms works with communities to ensure access to healthy food, and the support to lead healthy lives. 6 MONDAY, NOVEMBER 26 TH An Evening of A Cappella presented by Four in the Morning From Barbershop to doo-wop, gospel to familiar favorites, Four in the Morning has been entertaining audiences for over 15 years throughout the Commonwealth. This talented group was recently invited to perform at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens Christmas Festival of Lights and the Summer Lawn Party Weekend. They love to entertain audiences with the barbershop-style of close harmony as a quartet, while supporting the Virginians Chorus and the hobby they love. 7 December MONDAY, DECEMBER 3 RD Winter Concert presented by Hanover High School Orchestra Members of the orchestra will perform holiday classics and tunes filled with the spirit of Winter. The Hanover High School Orchestra is a thriving group of young musicians that strive to perform at their best at all times. The group, under the direction of Ms. Lucretia Davis, has earned Superior ratings at District Festival concerts and competitions and performs regularly for the Hanover and Richmond community. This is a concert you will not want to miss! MONDAY, DECEMBER 10 TH A Vintage Jazz Holiday presented by Grace Street Seven Jay Brown s Grace Street Seven is a vintage Jazz Septet that performs songs in the tradition of early American dance bands from the 1920 s-1930 s. This versatile group specializes in playing Victrola Record transcriptions of vintage classics from the likes of Al Bowlly, Fletcher Henderson, Ray Noble and Irving Berlin. The instrumental line-up includes trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, tenor banjo, piano, upright bass and percussion/ drums. Full of sophistication and exuding the nostalgia of early American Jazz, expect a dapper, yet cheeky, performance with a few fun surprises. Evening programs are held from 7:00 8:00 P.M.
