1 Měření přenosových vlastností systému AWS 3000 Úkol: 1. Sestavte systém pro přenos osmi videokanálů 2. Ověřte funkčnost systému 3. Vypracujte protokol, kde popíšete skladbu a možnosti využití systému a parametry komponent (druh vlákna, použitá vlnová délka, typ konektorů, atd.) Teoretický úvod: Stavebnicový systém AWS 3000 je určen pro přenos videosignálu (s použitím doplňku ADS 3000 možno přenášet i audio a data). Vstupní signál je modulován do přiřazeného kanálu podle vzorce f = 40,5 + n. 27MHz, kde n je číslo kanálu. Po modulaci se signál sloučí pomocí pasivního splitteru a pokračuje do optického vysílače. Na druhém konci optické přenosové trasy je signál opět přeměněn na elektrický signál, rozdělen a demodulován na jednotlivé videosignály. Do šasi MC 11 zasuňte vybrané moduly a zajistěte pomocí šroubů. Propojte moduly dle blokového schématu. Jako vstupní zařízení použijte videokameru, na výstup připojte monitor. Po zapnutí systému nastavte na jednotlivých VFD a VFM modulech vysílací a přijímací kanály. Postupně připojte vstupní signál na všechny vstupy a kontrolujte funkčnost systému na příslušném výstupu. Bezpečnostní pozn. Nikdy systém nezapínejte bez zapojeného optického vlákna. Systém vyzkoušejte v různých konfiguracích Zjistěte co se stane při současném vysílání stejných kanálů atd.

10 VFD Video FM demodulator with tunable carrier frequency USER MANUAL 1. General description An output stage of the optical AWS 3000 system, a VFD demodulator will convert an FM video signal on one of twenty selectable carrier frequencies into a composite video baseband signal. Remote status readout and channel selection are possible. Status LEDs and a numerical display with associated pushbuttons on the front of the unit provide equipment diagnostics and assist in straightforward installation. The demodulator can be deactivated by setting the channel number to zero (- - on the display). The video output level is adjustable by + or -3 db. VFD DC RF NV TC These 7TE modules will slot into the backplanes of NKF s MC 10 or MC 11 power supply cabinets. Remote readout and control require the MC/EB cabinet versions; for more information on this subject please consult the Supplementary Users Manual for Remote Control. 2. Indications and connectors on the VFD front panel 3. Installation 1. Install the power supply cabinet and plug in the VFD module(s). 2. Connect the necessary cabling and equipment: RF cabling, which generally will come from an NKF HFC decombiner, to the input, and video (or a demultiplexer) to the video output. Figure 1. VFD front panel layout 3. Set the channel number to 1-20 using the pushbuttons and. Remote switching of VFD channels may be performed if the module is mounted in an MC 10/EB or MC 11/EB power supply cabinet. 4. After switching on the power supply cabinet, at least the DC LED should glow. Upon feeding the input with a proper video signal, the NV LED should go out. Once the unit is functioning correctly in a signal transmitting system, the status LED pattern should be: NV, RF, TC (red): off DC (green) : on. 5. If necessary, adjust the video output level using the potentiometer. The factory setting is 1 V PP.

11 4. Care and maintenance VFD modules are designed to be maintenance free. In order to guarantee reliable operation of the unit, please observe the following precautions: - Prevent dust from collecting on the equipment - Protect the equipment against moisture - Maintain sufficient free space around the equipment for cooling. 5. VFD technical specifications 6. Safety and EMC Information The equipment described in this manual has been designed and tested according to the IEC65 safety requirements. It is an IEC safety class 1 product; the ground wire in the line cord must be connected when operating. The equipment has been designed and tested to meet the EGregulations relating to EMC. The equipment uses radio frequency energy, improper use may cause interference to other equipment or a decrease of performance due to interference radiated by other equipment. The equipment described in this manual is designed for use by properly trained personnel. This means that adjustment, maintenance and repair of the equipment should only be carried out by qualified personnel aware of the hazards involved. For correct and safe use of the equipment and in order to keep the equipment in a safe condition, it is essential that both operating and servicing personnel follow standard safety procedures in addition to the safety precautions and warnings specified in this manual. If there is any doubt regarding the safety of the equipment do not put it into operation. This might be the case when the equipment shows physical damage or is stressed beyond its tolerable limits (e.g. during storage and transportation). Before opening the equipment, disconnect it from all power sources. After disconnection from its power sources, the capacitors in the equipment may remain charged for some seconds. When removing covers or other parts of the equipment, live parts or terminals may be exposed. If the opened, live equipment needs calibration, maintenance or repair, only trained personnel, who are aware of the risks, may perform this. Any interruption of the ground wire inside or outside the equipment, or disconnection of the protective earth terminal, could make the equipment dangerous. Before any connections are made, the equipment must be connected to safety ground. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage or destroy electronic components. General description A signal input component of an optical AWS 3000 system, a VFM unit will convert a composite video baseband signal into a frequency modulated (FM) signal with a selectable carrier frequency. Remote status readout and switching of the twenty RF channels are possible. Status LEDs and a numerical display with associated pushbuttons on the front of the unit provide equipment diagnostics and assist in straightforward system installation. The modulator may be deactivated by choosing zero (- -) as channel number. By means of a front panel switch, the module's input can be changed to the high-impedance type, allowing parallel routing of signal supplied there to for instance a monitor, or a redundancy setup. These 7TE modules will slot into the backplanes of NKF s MC 10 or MC 11 power supply cabinets. Connect the necessary cabling and equipment: video to the video input and RF cabling to the output, which generally will go to an NKF HFC combiner. 3. Choose high or low input impedance with the switch marked 75 Ω. 4. Set the channel number to 1-20 using the pushbuttons and, making certain that no two VFM units which have their outputs combined are set to the same channel. Remote switching of VFM channels may be performed if the module is mounted in an MC 10/EB or an MC 11/EB power supply cabinet. 5.
