Be sure that power is disconnected by removing fuses or turning the main circuit breaker off before installation. Installing the device with power on may expose you to dangerous voltage and damage the device. A qualified electrician must perform this installation. Retain this guide for future reference. IMPORTANT INFORMATION. PLEASE READ! This unit is intended for installation in accordance with the National Electric Code and local regulations. It is also intended for permanent installation in indoor applications only. Before any electrical work is performed, disconnect power at the circuit breaker or remove the fuse to avoid shock or damage to the control. It is recommended that a qualified electrician perform this installation. Description IntelliSight Ceiling Occupancy Sensor (ITSCS, ITSCSHB) The IntelliSight Low-Voltage Ceiling Occupancy Sensor is a multiple technology, occupancy-sensing low-voltage device that is designed for use with one or more IntelliSight System Relay Packs. Each unit provides automatic on/off, or manual on, operations using a wall-mounted switch. Up to eight sensors can be used with each relay pack, and up to two relay packs can be controlled by one sensor. IntelliSight Photocell Daylighting Sensor (ITSPCS) The IntelliSight Low-Voltage Photocell Daylighting Sensor is a low-voltage device designed for use with one or more IntelliSight System Power Packs. Each unit provides dimming and bi-level switching control of up to two relay packs. IntelliSight Relay Packs (ITSRP1U, ITSRP2U, ITSRP4U) The IntelliSight Universal Voltage Relay Packs come in dual and quad relay configurations and operate with IntelliSight low-voltage ceiling and wall-mounted occupancy, and photocell (daylight harvesting) sensors. Each IntelliSight relay pack supports up to eight sensors. Lytemode Programming Remote (ITSIR1 or ITSIR2) The Lytemode Ceiling Occupancy Sensor Programming Remote is an optional accessory which provides quick and easy access to the full range of Occupancy Sensor features. 2 Preface

5 INSTALLATION & INTELLISIGHT OCCUPANCY SENSOR & RELAY PACKS Installation: Ceiling Occupancy Sensor The Ceiling Occupancy Sensor may be mounted in a junction box or directly to the ceiling depending on local code. The unit must have an unobstructed view of the area to be monitored and must be mounted perpendicular to the floor below. If the unit is subject to "false triggering" from activity beyond the desired area of coverage, a portion of the lens may be masked to achieve the desired response. Simply install the Field of View Customizing Template (provided). To install: 1. Check for any obstructions located behind the desired mounting location. 2. Drill 1-1/2" hole in the desired mounting location. 3. Place Ceiling Occupancy Sensor through the hole and secure with supplied washer and locknut. 4. The lens may be removed to install the Field of View Customizing Template*. Simply rotate the lens cover slightly counter-clockwise and remove. 5. Trim the template for the desired effect and install on interior of the lens. (Careful placement of the template is necessary to ensure proper function.) 6. Replace lens cover and verify that the unit is securely mounted. RETAINING NUT WASHER LOW VOLTAGE WIRE NOTE: Sensors must be mounted perpendicular to the floor. 6 INTELLISIGHT OCCUPANCY SENSOR & RELAY PACKS INSTALLATION & Installation: Relay Packs MOUNTING WARNING: Before installing device, ensure that all power has been disconnected at circuit breaker to avoid risk of shock or damage to the unit. Always follow local wiring codes. To install relay pack(s): 1. Locate a suitable mounting location adjacent to a junction box where line wiring is to connect. 2. Route wiring through 3/4" knock-out on junction box and secure the included 3/4" nipple or nipples to junction box. All power leads must be pulled into existing junction box. 3. Securely mount relay pack using the included 3/4" nipple(s) and attached mounting brackets. 4. Connect power leads according to the following sections. Always follow local wiring codes. LOW VOLTAGE WIRING To connect wiring: 1. If conduit is required by local code, route low voltage wiring into adjacent junction box and secure with included 1/2" nipple. 2. Connect low voltage network with Belden 8723 stranded two-pair conductor or standard Cat5e stranded cable (or equivalent) according to the following diagrams, depending on which model relay pack you are installing. 3. Both Orange and Brown inputs are optically isolated from Power Pack low-voltage circuit and can be alternately powered by an external circuit 12-24V AC or DC. When voltage is detected, the inputs will turn their programmed Relay Packs on (or off). This can be used for emergency or load shedding applications, and for a forced-on (or forced-off) switch. NOTE: Control inputs are designed to be enabled by a 12v to 24v (DC or AC) signal. 11 INSTALLATION & INTELLISIGHT OCCUPANCY SENSOR & RELAY PACKS Using the Programming Remote An IntelliSight Programming Remote must be used to program the Occupancy Sensors. NOTE: The IntelliSight Programming Remote is available in two versions: ITSIR1 and ITSIR2. Both models have the same functionality as described in the following sections. PROGRAMMING MODE To enter Programming Mode: 1. Aim the remote at the Occupancy Sensor and press the PGM/EXIT button. All affected sensors will blink red. 2. You may now select which sensors you would like to program by "lighting" them with the remote laser. Press and Hold the LASER button and allow the beam to "hit" the sensor you want to select. Once the signal is received, the sensor will illuminate blue and is ready to receive commands. To change the sensor parameters, first select the field which you would like to change. Programming fields include: Mode, Time, Relays, Sensitivity, and Photocell Sensitivity. The following sections will explain each mode. NOTE: After entering the Programming Mode and before tapping any A-H buttons, each relay can be individually controlled by tapping buttons 1-8. Each tap will toggle the relay state (on/off). Tapping button "0" will toggle all relays. This is a helpful tool in testing the installation and determining how the loads are wired. SELECTING DEVICES To select devices for programming (e.g. single occupancy, all occupancy, photocells, or switches), use the Device Select (DSEL) button on the ITSIR1 remote or the FIELD SELECT button on the ITSIR2 remote. Devices may also be individually selected by use of the remote laser. NOTE: The unit will always start in Single Occupancy Mode. To change the selected devices to be programmed: 1. Enter Programming Mode. (Refer to previous section.) 2. Press DSEL button (ITSIR1) or FIELD SELECT button (ITSIR2) to toggle through modes: Blue = Single Occupancy Sensor * Blue/Red = All Occupancy Sensors on network * Red = Switches on network Green = Photocell/Dimming * Additional ITSCS Sensors may be added or removed by using the laser to toggle sensors (blue = included). 12 INTELLISIGHT OCCUPANCY SENSOR & RELAY PACKS INSTALLATION & Programming: Ceiling Occupancy Sensor Ceiling Occupancy Sensor programming is the same for both single, multiple and all sensors on the network. Programming selections will affect all illuminated sensors. MODE The MODE field allows access to Fixed Time Out or Intelligent Modes, as well as Automatic or Manual On. Factory default is Automatic On\Fixed timing. Intelligent modes continuously monitor occupancy patterns within the space and automatically update the time-out period accordingly. IntelliSight offers three different levels of aggressiveness: Conservative Mode: Automatically adjusts the time-off between 5 to 30 minutes. Normal Mode: Automatically adjust the time-off between 3 and 15 minutes for enhanced energy savings. Aggressive Mode: Automatically adjust the time-off delay between 1 minute and 5 minutes for maximum energy savings. The Occupancy Sensor can be configured to operate in either a Manual On or Automatic On Mode. In Manual On Mode, the lights will only turn on when a designated switch activates the relays. The lights will turn off automatically when vacancy is detected for the time delay period. In the Automatic On Mode, the lights will automatically turn on as soon as occupancy is detected. The lights will turn off when either the designated switch deactivates the relay or automatically when vacancy is detected for the time delay To change the mode of the sensor: 1. Enter Programming Mode (refer to page 9). 2. Press DSEL button (ITSIR1) or FIELD SELECT button (ITSIR2) until the sensor illuminates blue. All devices may be selected by pressing the button again (sensor will illuminate blue/red and all other sensors on the network will illuminate blue). 3. Press MODE button. 4. Select intelligence level: Button 1 Aggressive Intelligence Button 2 Normal Intelligence Button 3 Conservative Intelligence Button 4 Fixed Timing * Factory Default 5. Periods may be selected from 1 to 30 minutes. NOTE: Increasing the time delay will lower the possibility of a false Off trigger, but will also lower the energy savings. To change the time of the sensor: Button 1 1 Minute 1. Enter Programming Mode (refer to page 9). Button 2 3 Minutes 2. Press TIME button. Button 3 5 Minutes 3. To change the relay selection of the sensor: 1. Enter Programming Mode (refer to page 9). 2. Press RLYS button. 3. Select the relay or relays to be controlled by the sensor. Any combination of relays may be assigned to the sensor (example: relays 1, 2 3, 5, and 8). Exit programming by pressing the PGM/EXIT button or continue with programming by selecting another field. 14 INTELLISIGHT OCCUPANCY SENSOR & RELAY PACKS INSTALLATION & Programming: Ceiling Occupancy Sensor (continued) SENSITIVITY Part of the superior performance of the ITSCS/ITSCSHB Occupancy Sensor involves the increased sensitivity of the sensor system. The three settings are Low, Medium, and High. Each application may be slightly different and the preferences of each user might be different. The default setting (Medium) will be adequate for most situations. The settings are described as follows: Low: Lowest level of detection setting - when less detection is required - occupants are close to the sensor or movements within the space are more pronounced. This level may result in the lights falsely turning off when there is low levels of activity. Medium (default): Default setting - medium level of detection to fit most applications. High: Highest level of detection - movements and activity within the space are less pronounced. This level increases the possibility of false triggering (turning the lights on) or keeping them on longer. To change the sensitivity selection of the sensor: Button 1 Low 1. Enter Programming Mode (refer to page 9). Button 2 Medium * Factory Default 2. Press SENS button. Button 3 High 3. Select the desired level of sensitivity. OCCUPANCY PHOTOCELL SENSITIVITY There is a photo eye (photocell) in the ITSCS/ITSCSHB Occupancy Sensor which can prevent the Occupancy Sensor from automatically turning on the lights if the light level in the room is already higher than a set level. This feature can be enabled or disabled - with the factory default being disabled. The PHOTOCELL SENSITIVITY field allows selection of the internal photocell s sensitivity levels, as well as disable. To change the sensitivity selection of the photocell: Button 1 Low Ambient Button 2 Low-Medium Ambient 1. Enter Programming Mode (refer to page 9). Button 3 Medium-Low Ambient 2. Press MPHS button (ITSIR1) or the PHON Button 4 Medium Ambient button (ITSIR2). Button 5 Medium-High Ambient 3. Select the desired level of sensitivity. Button 6 High-Medium Ambient 4. To let the unit capture the present room s Button 7 High Ambient ambient light level, press and hold button 8 for 4 seconds. The unit will turn off the lights, take a snapshot of the current ambient light level, and then turn the lights back on. To activate/deactivate the audible buzzer or entire occupancy sensor: 1. Enter Programming Mode (refer to page 9). 2. Press MISC button. 3. Select desired parameters: Button 1 Enable Buzzer * Factory Default Button 2 Disable Buzzer Button 3 Enable Status LEDs * When in Normal Mode Button 4 Disable Status LEDs * When in Normal Mode Button 7 Enable Sensor * Factory Default Button 8 Disable Sensor Button 0 Factory Default * Enable Buzzer/Sensor/LEDs SWITCH PROGRAMMING MODE (RELAY PACK INPUTS OR NETWORK-CONNECTED LSW SERIES KEYPADS) The Switch Programming Mode allows a switch contact or push button to be programmed. To select a switch for programming: 1. Enter Programming Mode (refer to page 9). 2. Press DSEL button (ITSIR1) or FIELD SELECT button (ITSIR2) until the sensor illuminates red. 3. Press SW# button. Network connected keypads will blink all buttons. 4. Select desired switch to program: Button 1 Switch 1 Primary Pack, Input 1 (Orange) Button 2 Switch 2 Primary Pack, Input 2 (Brown) Button 3 Switch 3 Reserved Button 4 Switch 4 Reserved Button 5 Switch 5 Secondary Pack, Input 1 (Orange) Button 6 Switch 6 Secondary Pack, Input 2 (Brown) Button 7 Switch 7 Reserved Button 8 Switch 8 Reserved Button 0 Select LSW Button * The LSW keypad button to be programmed must be pressed and held for 3 seconds NOTE: Button 0 is used to select a button/switch on an IntelliSight compatible keypad. 16 INTELLISIGHT OCCUPANCY SENSOR & RELAY PACKS INSTALLATION & Programming: Ceiling Occupancy Sensor (continued) SWITCH MODE The SWITCH MODE field designates the mode in which the switch will operate. The modes are as follows: Tap Momentary Closure Switch. When the switch is closed, the relays selected by "Relay On Select" are turned ON, and relays selected by "Relay Off Select" are turned OFF. Double Tap (2 Hour Hold) Momentary Closure Switch. SINGLE TAP - Works the same as TAP above. DOUBLE TAP - Works the same as TAP, except that the time-out to ignore occupancy sensor is set to 2 hours. This applies to both ON and OFF. (Two taps within 1 second constitutes a double tap.) Override When the circuit connected to the Input is open, the Pack operates normally. When the circuit is closed, the relays selected by "Relay On Select" are forced ON and the relays selected by "Relay Off Select" are forced OFF. The unselected relays operate normally. This override is not communicated to other Packs, only relays in the Pack that physically has the Input connection active are affected. This mode can be used for Time Clock control of specific relays, Alarm control of specific relays, or Load Shed. Inverted Override Same functionality as Override except that the Input is inverted, i.e. when the circuit is closed, the Pack operates normally. Toggle Momentary Closure Switch. The first time the switch is closed, the relays selected by "Relay On Select" are turned ON, and the relays selected by "Relay Off Select" are turned OFF. The next closure turns the relays selected by "Relay On Select" to OFF, and relays selected by "Relay Off Select" to ON. The next closure repeats the action of the first closure. A single Momentary Closure Switch can be used to perform a Press ON and Press OFF when set to this mode. Dimmer Raise Momentary Closure Switch. SINGLE TAP - Causes the relays selected by "Relay On Select" to turn ON, and the dimmers to Fade Up to the programmed Scene. Relay Pack inputs only (orange/brown). DOUBLE TAP - Causes the relays selected by "Relay On Select" to turn ON, and the dimmer to instantly go to the programmed Scene. Relay Pack inputs only (orange/brown). PRESS and HOLD - Causes all dimmers to Fade Up. Fade stops when released. Relay Pack inputs (orange/brown) and Lyteswitch keypads. 14 Programming: Ceiling Occupancy Sensor

SINGLE TAP - Causes the dimmers to Fade down to OFF, and then causes the relays selected by "Relay Off Select" to turn OFF. Relay Pack inputs only (orange/brown). DOUBLE TAP - Causes the relays selected by "Relay Off Select" to turn OFF instantly. Relay Pack inputs only. Once a Scene is selected to be adjusted, press either the DIM (F) or the DIM (G) on the ITSIR to enable either Dimmer Raise or Dimmer Lower. 4. On the ITSIR, Press and Hold a Dimmer button (1-8) to either Raise or Lower the selected dimmer. When the button is released the Dimmer will stop. Pressing the MSTR (0) button will Raise and Lower ALL Dimmers. 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to adjust the Dimmers for the selected Scene. 6. To save the new Dimmer levels to a Scene, Press the DSCN (E) button on the ITSIR and then Press and Hold the Scene button to be saved for 3 seconds. 7. 24 INTELLISIGHT OCCUPANCY SENSOR & RELAY PACKS INSTALLATION & Manual Configuration: Ceiling Occupancy Sensor There are two programming switches (buttons) on the Ceiling Occupancy Sensor which can be used to Display and Modify the Sensor s Settings. Programming Switch 2, the "Field" Button (turns on the Blue LED when pressed) is used to select the Field you wish to display or modify. Programming Switch 1, the "Setting" Button (turns on the Green LED when pressed) is used to set the value of the selected Field. By using both buttons, the Sensor can be manually configured for most applications. NOTE: Use the IntelliSight Programming Remote for faster, "hands free" programming of all features. Refer to "Using the Programming Remote" on page 9. To enter Manual Programming Mode: 1. Unscrew Lens Cover on Ceiling Sensor to access manual programming buttons. 2. Press and hold the Field Button for 3 seconds. After 3 seconds the Red LED will turn on indicating the unit is in the Manual Programming Mode. Release the button. To exit Manual Programming Mode: There are three ways to exit the Programming Mode. 1. Press and hold the Field Button for 3 seconds. 2. Keep tapping the Field Button until Ceiling Sensor exits Programming Mode. 3. Stop tapping the buttons. The Ceiling Sensor will exit the Programming Mode 1 minute after the last button press. Programming Switch 2 (Field) (BLUE LED) NOTE: Test Mode may be entered by holding the SETTINGS button for 10 seconds. The sensor will automatically exit the Test Mode after 4 minutes. (Sensor must not be in the Programming Mode.) 26 INTELLISIGHT OCCUPANCY SENSOR & RELAY PACKS INSTALLATION & Relay Pack Primary/Secondary Mode Selection The Relay Pack can be used as either a primary or secondary relay pack allowing for up to 8 individually controlled relay channels and 4 individually controlled dimmer channels. If a Relay Pack has a yellow wire, it is used to set the pack as a Primary (relays 1-4) when left unconnected, or as a Secondary (relays 5-8) when connected to ground (black). Primary Mode (DEFAULT) Yellow Yellow Black Primary Secondary In this Mode the Relays are numbered 1-4 and Dimmers, if present, are numbered 1, 2 and the Switch Inputs are numbered 1, 2. The Primary sets the state of all relays, including in the Secondary pack to the last state upon power-up. During power-up, it also pings the network for 1 minute to test communications. Secondary Mode In this Mode the Relays are numbered 5-8 and Dimmers, if present, are numbered 5, 6 and the Switch Inputs are numbered 5, 6. Mimic Primary Mode In this Mode the Relays are numbered 1-4 and Dimmers, if present, are numbered 1, 2 and the Switch Inputs are numbered 1, 2. The relay pack only listens to the network and Mimics the functionality of the Primary Pack. Mimic Secondary Mode In this Mode the Relays are numbered 5-8 and Dimmers, if present, are numbered 5, 6 and the Switch Inputs are numbered 5, 6. The relay pack only listens to the network and Mimics the functionality of the Secondary Pack.
