If you are installing this system with one entrance panel continue to step. If however you are installing more than one entrance please follow the instructions (IN4) supplied with the multi entrance relay box. Install the cables Use W08 (BT spec.) twisted paired and RG coaxial cable. See cable layout fig.. Any cable joint is potentially a cause of connection faults, it is therefore prudent to keep junctions to a minimum. For this reason we recommend making connections at the panel (max. telephones) or at ONE point in the riser (usually adjacent to the ). fig. video layout 7n 7 7 Install the video phones The video phones should be connected according to the diagram overleaf. Ignore the dashed wires if additional features are not required. If additional video phones are required to be called simultaneously, please refer to Fig.. fig. 00mm 4 Install the entrance panel Please refer to the instructions (IN4000) supplied with the door entry panel. Operation The video door entry system functions as follows. Upon pressing one of the external buttons the corresponding video phone sounds (only when on hook), the screen will light and display the image from the camera. When the called phone handset is picked up, contact is established and conversation may take place. In order to operate the electric lock the push button marked by a key symbol should be fully depressed. Two other buttons (AN70) are provided for auxiliary use. The picture will stay lit for a preset period ( seconds to minutes) adjustable at the 008 PSU. 007 functions The 007 unit (PSU) has built in lock release timer (with relay output), v ac, v dc, and tone outputs. When the lock release button on the phone is pressed, terminal and (at the phone) are shorted, causing the lock release timer to start which in turn changes the state of the relay. The time can be adjusted between 40 seconds (approx.). The v ac (A) and v dc () terminals may be used to power lock releases up to 0. Amps. ac/dc = number of cores n = number of phones = RG oaxial cable If the installation is for a single apartment (with monitor), or a block of apartments on a single riser (with monitor per apartment) AN00 video distributor is not necessary. However for all other installations it is recommended that the distributor is fitted. See fig. 4. Trouble shooting The first rule of trouble shooting is to make your system as simple as possible. ie. remove any nonessential conn e c t i o n s. No picture (the monitor lights up) a heck for V at the camera b heck video signal c heck correct connection of video distributor if used No picture (monitor won t light up) a In order for the monitor to light it must be called and get 8V from the PSU. b heck for a call tone at the monitor c heck for 8V on R (ve) & R (ve), both at the PSU and more i m p o r t a n t l y, at the monitor. Poor picture a Failure to fit end of line resistors. For systems w i t h o u t video distributor (AN00) ONE resistor should be fitted across V & V of the last monit o r. For systems w i t h video distributor O N E resistor should be fitted across V & V of the last monitor for each output ( in total if one distributor fitt e d ). b Low power to the video monitor. heck for 8 volts between R and R (ve) at the monitor when the monitor has been called. If the voltage is less than volts then picture quality will be poor. In this case check for overall load (max amp) and cross sectional area of the R & R wires. High pitched screech: a Excessive amplification (volume requires adjustment) b Unhooked handset hanging down & facing wall c Short circuit on wires & d Incorrect cable used e Poor alignment of microphone to hole in front plate. This is intentional and should be followed for best results. 4 entrance relay When current is drawn from PS (entrance A or B) the relay will latch to the calling entrance for approx. 0 seconds or the duration of the call (whichever is longer). The other entrance, if calling, will hear an engaged tone. Site the (07) close to the relay (4). Two push buttons are available for other functions (eg. opening a second lock) marked / & Q/Q. These are both push to make momentary switches. / terminal The / terminal is a connection which can be used instead of terminal. If you are experienceing feedback (and you are sure it not a connection problem) then the / terminal is used to half the volume of the telephone earpiece.
