We would be pleased to quote for large or long term hires Payment is due on return of goods a deposit may be requested. Hires available for collection PM Hires to be returned AM unless by prior arrangement. Equipment not returned on time will be subject to a further charge. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE HIRER TO INSURE ALL EQUIPMENT AGAINST ALL RISKS. Items damaged or not returned will be charged at replacement cost. Do not remove plugs a parts + VAT charge will be made for any equipment returned with cables cut, or seal broken on plugs & sockets. All equipment [apart from certain specials] is terminated with 15amp plugs adaptor leads are available please specify when ordering. All cables are supplied coiled and secured please return them in the same condition or a VAT charge will be made per cable. All equipment is supplied tested to current standards. E & OE

3 FULL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF HIRE INSURANCE - It is the responsibility of the hirer to insure the equipment against all risks, as they will be held responsible for the safe return of all equipment. Any damage or loss will be charged for at current price. Specialist Theatre Services Limited cannot accept responsibility for any damage to property or injury to personnel caused by the equipment whilst on hire. RESPONSIBILITY - It is the hirers responsibility to see that the equipment is used and installed by competent persons and that all work is carried out to Health & Safety at Work standards. PRICES - All items are hired for a weekly or daily period and must be returned on the dates specified, or a further charge could be incurred. All prices are exclusive of VAT at current rate. LAMPS - A proportion of spare lamps are included with all consignments. ALL blown lamps must be returned otherwise replacements will be charged in full. Lamps damaged by other means will also be charged in full, as will those not returned. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH LAMPS WITH YOUR BARE HANDS ORDERS - Orders must be confirmed in writing by the person or organisation assuming responsibility for the hired equipment, this should be received by Specialist Theatre Services Limited at least one week before commencement of hire. 48 hours notice must be given for a cancellation otherwise charges will be made. HIRE PERIOD - Hire period commences from the time the equipment leaves our premises and terminates only on the return of all hired items in full working order, to the nearest weekly period. Hires available for collection PM and to be returned AM, unless by prior arrangement. PAYMENT - For non-account customers, payment is required on collection or prior to delivery, a deposit will be required along with proof of identity if requested. We reserve the right not to release the goods to persons without I.D. Minimum invoice value on all hires Account invoices are to be settled 30 days from date of invoice, credit charges of 5% above base rates per month accumulative become due thereafter. If payment over is made by credit card a handling fee of 3.5% per transaction is made. No charge for payment by debit card. AVAILABILITY - Every effort is made to supply equipment as ordered but we reserve the right to substitute other similar equipment. Faulty equipment must be reported immediately and returned to Specialist Theatre Services Ltd to allow us to repair, replace or refund the hire charge, any request to attend to equipment on site will incur charges. We do not accept responsibility for any other loss. All equipment is checked prior to release and is tested on a regular basis to comply with the Electricity at Work and Portable Appliance Test regulations. PLUGS & CABLES - Plugs & sockets must not be removed. A charge of parts + VAT will be made for each refit. Cables are supplied coiled and secured, please return them in the same condition. A charge of VAT will be made for untangling and coiling of each cable. DELIVERY - This can be arranged with prior notice for a reasonable charge during normal working hours. OWNERSHIP - All hire equipment remains the property of Specialist Theatre Services Limited and must be surrendered on request. The location of the equipment must be notified at the time of the hire and no equipment may be taken from mainland Britain without the written consent of Specialist Theatre Services Limited. The hirer grants the right of entry to any premises where the hired goods may be to repossess, examine, repair or service the equipment. All items purchased remain the property of Specialist Theatre Services Limited and title will only pass once payment has been received and cleared

12 A Code of Practice as defined by Le Maitre Ltd This code of practice relates to the use of indoor or stage pyrotechnics. It should only be used as a guide and not considered in any way as definitive. The following code is used by all Le Maitre pyrotechnicians. 1. Pyrotechnics must only be used by competent adults. If misused they can be very dangerous and cause serious injuries. 2. Always inform the venue/local licensing authority of intent to use pyrotechnics at a venue 14 days prior to the event. Include in the proposal a list of all devices that are to be used and the name and details of the manufacturer. 3. The person responsible for the control and firing of pyrotechnics must ensure that it is safe to do so. The loading and siting of all devices must be done with safety foremost. No smoking signs should be displayed during the loading procedure and up to show time. 4. Firing systems used must always be of a recognised design and manufacture, incorporating both electrical and mechanical failsafes, ie: key switch and panel switch enable systems. The person in charge should carry the ignition key with him/her at all times and should only insert the key immediately prior to ignition. At no time should the key be left in the controller. 5. Only use devices, hardware and controllers manufactured by a recognised and respected manufacturer. All devices used must carry a Health & Safety Executive Competent Authority Document. The manufacturer should be in a position to supply copies. 6. All pyrotechnics must be stored in a safe and locked room, displaying No Smoking signs, until they are required. Only the devices required should be placed in situ; no other spares or such like should be present on the stage. All pyrotechnics must be delivered to the venue in packaging as defined by the Competent Authority Document. 7. When pyrotechnics are in use, the operator must have sight of all devices. If it is unsafe to detonate any device, he/she must not fire. The final decision must rest with the operator. Suitable fire fighting equipment should be deployed in strategic positions in situ, and cast and crew made fully aware of all devices and their position. 8. If any doubt whatsoever exists about the suitability or positioning of any device, a test firing should take place with the relevant authority present so that a proper risk assessment can be made. 9. When positioning devices, always take into account all personnel, scenery and other objects in situ. Take notice and ensure that all fabrics in close proximity are non flammable.
